Meet Saul Rasco: Founder and Creative Director, Press Studios

We had the good fortune of connecting with Saul Rasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saul, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before starting Press Studios, I worked as a full time content creator building relationships with so many brands. The more campaigns I worked on, I saw the need for an agency who helped brands, big and small, to create a steady flow of content that was impactful in the always changing landscape of social media. I created Press Studios which now contracts a wide range of brands helping to build their social impact across their platforms. We build photography, videography, and graphic design assets that communicate who they are. We’ve even recently helped brands connect with influencers through my personal friendships I’ve made throughout working as a content creator.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Press Studios is a content production and management team who specializes in creating photography, videography, and graphic design assets for social media. We help brands, big and small, build their community by making impactful content that is unique and engaging. While we are based in Los Angeles, we have clients in LA, New York City, Chicago, and Dallas currently, but we’re always looking to expand globally. My experience in social media has expanded over a ten year work history. From interning in public relations for Gucci America, to assisting the Creative Director of GQ Magazine, and even working as a content creator for myself, I’ve built the base and knowledge to get me where I am today with Press Studios. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is, try everything and say no to nothing. Press Studios was never the end goal, but I couldn’t be more proud that this is the path that I’ve taken in my career. I love working with brands, especially startups, helping to build their presence and relationships online. Nothing is more satisfying than delivering our first round of content and completely blowing away our clients with the content we’ve created with budgets that can sometimes be constrained in the beginning. No matter the budget, we help brands make their first footprints in their digital space.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles isn’t a hard place to get friends or family to visit. There’s already so many historic landmarks that people have on their list. I’m not much of a tourist person when traveling so I try to avoid those spots when I have visitors. Some of the top places I love to eat, and love to take newbies to LA, are: El Compadre – Definitely a LA favorite for Mexican food and the BEST -aka strongest – margaritas. I’m from Texas originally so Mexican food and margaritas are hard to compare to home, but El Compadre comes close. Crossroads – This place is the best vegan restaurant. The first time I went, I didn’t even know it was vegan until I was halfway done with my meal. The Rose Venice – one of my favorite spots near the beach. This place is always packed so make a reservation early in the week! Some favorite bars are always rooftops or patios around LA. The best part of living here is the weather so these places are open year round: Harriet’s Rooftop – Cool rooftop over on Sunset with views of all of LA. Elephante – Love going here for day drinks by the beach. Always good music. Broken Shaker – If I’m going to a concert downtown, I always start at this place. It’s an easy spot to hit near the arena and theaters. Besides that, I would take them outside of LA to see some of my favorite spots like Joshua Tree for a night or two and a weekend in Palm Springs. I love taking long weekends in Joshua Tree to go hiking and exploring all the cool shops. Palm Springs doesn’t have the best food in the world but it’s all about renting a cool house with a pool and grilling every meal outside. If there’s a good show at the Hollywood Bowl, that’s a must too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, as cliche as it might sound, I have to thank my Mother. She was a single parent who put herself through nursing school while raising two children. I have never met a harder working or giving person. Her drive and work ethic is how I’ve been able to accomplish goals I’ve had. Seeing first hand what hard work and long hours does, gave me the courage to take some huge leaps of faith while working towards where I am today.
