Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Be humble enough to understand how little you still know regardless of where you are in your career. I’ve been happy to celebrate the success of our projects and new collaborations born from each, but always hungry to learn more from the best in the film industry. Our podcast SOUNDSTAGE ACCESS was started as an opportunity to share a creative dialogue with Hollywood professionals whose work I’ve been studying from for decades (whether I knew that or not). To this day I record and share all of these podcast episodes for free, as knowledge is meant to be shared. When I’m about to meet someone, I go crazy with the research, knowing that intelligent questions will lead to interesting answers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Mattinee double-bill at The New Beverly cinema, a walk at the Griffith Observatory as the sun is setting (avoid weekends) and dinner at Angelini’s on Beverly Blvd. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The amazing collaborators who’ve been by my side, most of them since the start. Cinematographer Garrett Nicholson has been behind the camera of our wide-ranging films for nearly 10 years, Dave Williams who joined our team recently, with an award-winning sound design for our film NIGHTFIRE, and Eric Bass who has been a vital presence with our podcast SOUNDSTAGE ACCESS, where every month we welcome Oscar-winning film professionals to discuss their creative process. Be smart enough to surround yourself with people who are smarter than you.
