We had the good fortune of connecting with The CheeseBergens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I’ve been in bands for a long time and I know that it’s really hard to make it in the music business so you really have to love what you do. Having fun is the most important factor behind our success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think being a punk family band with a sense of humor sets us apart from most other bands in one way or another.

Right now, I’m most excited about this interview! Then on Earth Day we have a split single coming with the Canadian band Sons of Butcher. After that, we plan to continue releasing singles once a month until we have all our music released. Then we will put all our work out as a double album. We also have our weekly livestream which airs on Fridays at 7 PM PST on all our socials. Seriously, I’m happy about everything the band is doing no matter how big or small.

Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve been in bands for years and I know how frustrating it is to be devoted to ‘making it’ because there’s always someone bigger or better. The key is to have fun with it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love shopping and finding bargains so we would definitely take them to our favorite thrift stores like Crossroads Trading Post and It’s a Wrap. At night, we would have to check out our favorite clubs. The Smell is cool for punk rock and we would have to swing by the Rainbow. No trip to L.A. is complete without getting a picture with a statue of Lemmy and eating some Rainbow pizza. We’re really big on sweets and chocolate in particular, so a stop at Cold Stone Creamery or another ice cream shop would be in order

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That would probably be Marissa’s mother, the CheeseKid’s grandmother. She was the one who turned me (Marissa) on to music by giving me all her old Beatles albums when I was a child. She also taught me never to lose my sense of humor.

During the pandemic, we’ve been doing a live show on our social media and she tunes in every week and always has something funny to say so we feel like she’s become an honorary member of The CheeseBergens.
