Meet Grecia Salamon: Producer, Actress & TV Host

We had the good fortune of connecting with Grecia Salamon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grecia, how do you think about risk?

I absolutely love taking risks! When a big challenge comes in my life I know that is the moment to step up, learn and get to the next chapter. I see risks as an opportunity to evolve in different areas as well as a way to experience my life with trust and connectivity. When I believe that everything is working out for me, there’s no risk that isn’t worthy.

I’ve had the opportunity to connect with so many amazing people, explore incredible places, work on unbelievable projects just because I decided to take the risk. I don’t allow myself to be stopped by fear. Maybe it’s my Sagittarius spirit that makes me so adventurous, but I love all the magic that happens when you are willing to overcome fear and dare greatly to experience the best in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

My art has been expanding through time. I started acting at a very young age, but it’s amazing how as I grow personally and professionally, I’m able to become a more holistic artist by expanding my skills and my interests .

I’ve been in the entertainment industry for about 15 years now. Grew up doing theater, then transitioned to TV & Film and then decided to move to Los Angeles at the age of 20 to start a new life, learn a different language and study what I was most passionate about, acting. However, our plans don’t always go the way we think, and it wasn’t until about three years ago that I got the opportunity to be the TV host of a National Live TV show. I never even contemplated becoming a tv host, but I took the risk and it completely shaped my life into what it is today.

I learned a lot in that production, and then other doors started opening up. From “Canal de las estrellas” I went to the Hispanic TV Station “Univision”, where I still work. Also got the amazing opportunity to become the host of an international livestream for the global fashion brand, SHEIN, where I’ve been able to create a big loyal and loving community. It’s been over two years of growth and fun! Through this job I’ve been able to learn and explore other skills, and I actually recognized that one of my passions is producing. I am currently the host and Executive Producer for the Shein International live streams where more than 250 thousand people connect every week. The show has evolved enormously in the past year, becoming one of the top digital shows in Mexico and other Latin countries.

By discovering other creative ways to express myself, like producing, I started thinking deeper about my message and the content that I truly want to put out there. I believe 2020 was very positive for my individual and professional growth, it helped me realize the need to be authentic to yourself but also the need to elevate others. I consider myself a very spiritual/adventurous person and I’ve been craving content that’s more real, more open, also more educative, so I created my own show: “Vámonos con Grecia”, a Docu-series where the crew (my friends) and I get to explore the world, learn new practices, cultures & philosophies, but also get to go on adventurous experiences. I call it a “dream job”.

“Vámonos con Grecia” has been one of the most incredible risks I’ve ever taken. It was my debut as a director and a film producer. We certainly had some intense moments, but I am immensely proud of the result and the community we have attracted since. The pilot was made during the last two months of 2020 and launched January 2021. I’m happy to say that it did get picked up and we are currently preparing the future season, so stay tuned.

This project in particular has taught so many things, not only about the content we are creating for each episode, but also how to trust my instincts, my inner voice, the Universe; how to work as a team, how to believe in other people and their skills, how to elevate and appreciate the talent of others instead of feeling competitive. It’s taught me to become the best version of myself, to enjoy the process while letting go and have fun. It has taught me that our creativity is supposed to be joyful and not a burden. Professionally speaking, it taught me to be a better host just by understanding how it is to be the director and the producer. It inspired me to start my own production company, Rous World Productions, which will be co-producing this and many other projects and events. I honestly have no words to describe how rewarding it is when we start to believe that our ideas are enough and that they can always be manifested and accomplished even if they seem too big or too small.

Acting is still part of what I do, it’s just that now I’m not limited to that category only. I’m very excited for what is coming and I can’t wait to see what else will develop from this point. Part of me feels that this is just the beginning of a prosperous journey. I’m very appreciative to have chosen this path and stuck to it even when things got difficult and even when everyone around tried to stop me. I think the entertainment industry can be very mean and cut throat at times, but also full of good hearted, talented humans. Let’s attract our tribe and create what makes us happy individually and as a society.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my bestie was coming to town I would receive her with a full on Californian joint. First stop, a dispensary (“Yes my friend, marihuana is recreationally legal and you can actually go to a store to pick your favorite”)

There is so much to explore here that I wouldn’t know where to start, but I’d certainly take her on a road trip all over: From Malibu to San Diego, exploring all the little gems on the Pacific Coast Highway and visiting friends. There’s always events by the beach and in the mountains, I would absolutely take her to electronic festivals and cacao ceremonies, because balance is everything. Nature is my lifestyle, so I think going to some epic hikes and catching some Californian sunsets is part of the to-do list. Museums here are worth visiting and also random, hippie/artistic spots with good food and cool people.
