We had the good fortune of connecting with Marabina Jaimes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marabina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Constantly learning new things. I like to think of actors like trees…the more branches you grow, the more opportunities you create for yourself.

My latest branch: Coaching Bilingual Voice Over. My partners Tito Alvarez (Darth Vader in Spanish/Coca Cola) and Dantonio Alvarez (Producer “All Rise”) invited me at the beginning of Covid19 to create a curriculum and teach for www.AcademiaDeLaVoz.com, a Virtual Voice Academy. I take great pride in being the only Bilingual Voice Over Coach on a national level with a curriculum that explores all VO Genres in two languages, with added training for Home Studio Setup, Audio Editing/Production, Digital Marketing, Copywriting/Translation, Radio, Curated Pro VO Demos, Weekly Bilingual VO Workouts, and even a Platform for Podcasting. I also invite amazing Bilingual V.O. Talent and Casting – give them a proper interview – and the chance to share their Talent, Technique, and Tenacity@ with our virtual students. Besides also shooting / producing several projects from home – on camera and voice over -. Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an Emmy winner (PBS “ Storytime!”) who does it all: from Stage, Television, Film to Hosting/Interviewing, to all genres of Voice Over (Commercials, Animation, Video Games, Narration, Audio Books, Dubbing, ADR) and I do it in two languages! Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL! Hey, its summer and “Kool & The Gang” recently opened it back up!  So, now that we have tix for Carlos Vives, with Dudamel and the LA Phil, lets stop at @IKEA for seat cushions and blankets, then to @SweetSaltFood on Riverside in Toluca Lake and put together a picnic box with a beautiful Italian sandwiches, Fig/Blue Cheese/Walnut Salad, merengue cookies or Cherry Bomb dessert, and a Latte. Then we go up a block on Riverside and pick up some delicious beef empanadas and a bottle of wine at @Bodega_Malbec. Call UBER and away we go! Then we go Salsa dancing @LaDescargaLA, the cuban speakeasy on Western. We then make appointments for next day foot massages at @GoldenNails!
