We had the good fortune of connecting with Deon Williams Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deon, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As you get older you begin to prioritize what’s important to you at a specific time in your life. What’s important to somebody varies from person to person. Since we are focused on me right now I learned over the past 3 years, that all I want to do is create. I understand that the income from music is not consistent and forces me to work that dreadful 9-5 to make ends meet month in and month out. Balance have saved me because I find the significance in both for example, music brings me pure happiness and my daily job provides stability for the meantime. I prioritize my music lifestyle with my job to make sure I am left satisfied in the end.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited for what will come out of all this in end. I understand what I’m doing is for a good cause. The love I spread through my music does not go unnoticed so that’s what I am excited for to see where this love will take me. I kept trying even when I didn’t get things right the first time I knew through trial and error I can do anything truly. You are meant to face challenges in life but it’s the lessons you learn from it that truly develops the person. I want the world to know that me, HeyDeon is the now !
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I feel like everyone should try Nick’s On 2nd one time in their life. I love their food it’s so good and I appreciate the vibes.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s not just one person to thank for all that’s happening in my life currently. My girlfriend Torin and my family are the ones who truly motivate me day in and day out to keep pursuing my craft. Honestly without them there wouldn’t be the “HeyDeon” many people know about today. They are the rocks that compliment my soil and I am just grateful for them. Also want to thank my friend Jay James for giving me the resources I needed in order to create.
