We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As many others, I was laid off during the pandemic and for the first time in several years, I had the time to think about what I really wanted to do. And I decided that what was most important to me was to have the freedom and creative control over what I did on a day to day basis including which brands I chose to work with. I love that I set my own hours, work with whom I want, set the expectations. and decide what I want to do for each brand.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m proud of working with so many amazing brands around LA that I’m truly passionate about. It definitely wasn’t easy in the beginning took lots of reaching out to people and places that I admired and having confidence that they would see my skills and understand how it would translate to their own business. Main challenge is to learn to not take anything personal. To realize that sometimes you Just don’t fit with a particular person or place and that’s okay. Take the no, learn from any of the feedback you received, and keep it moving. eventually with time and more effort you will get a yes and then more yes’s will follow. It is frustrating at times but trust in the process
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents for always believing in me and having faith that I could do this. Without them always telling me to trust in myself and the process of it all I wouldn’t be where I am. And of course all my clients for taking a chance with me when I first ventured out on my own it meant a lot.
