Meet Kristen Kacinski | Master NLP Practitioner & Healer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Kacinski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to think that balance was something that would come when I had more success. When there was more money…when I had more team members…when my platform got bigger and my customer base grew…then I could have the balance. Over time I started to realize that balance is a choice. We have to choose consciously to end our work day. We have to choose to fill up our life with things other than work. And interestingly for some of us, this choice can feel impossible. For me, I used to get a lot of validation out of my business. It used to make me feel like I mattered. So for me to choose to end my work day and create balance in my life… on some level it felt like I was walking away from the thing that proved I mattered. There was an addiction to the work because it was the proof that I mattered. Until I was able to see that I mattered with or without the business… Which came with a lot of healing… I wasn’t able to have balance. The healing work ended up being so impactful on me that I changed my whole business model to become a healer myself. So the way balance has changed over time for me is that now I don’t feel like I have to earn the balance. I don’t feel like I have to reach the next income mile stone or success metric to be worthy of the balance. I am worthy of the balance now.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I started my business I was very much in the hustle mentality. I bought into the idea that if I could become successful faster than everyone else that would mean something about me, that I was good enough or worthy. This, as you may have guessed, quickly turned into burn out and led me down a path of healing. None of it was easy. But all of it was worth it. Because of the profound impact my own healing had on my life and business, I ended up changing my entire business model and became a healer myself. Now I work with online entrepreneurs to support them in healing their own attachments to their business. As entrepreneurs, we often put off our joy, sense of safety, and fulfillment until we complete the next goal or make the next sale. This leads us down a dangerous path of always chasing the next level. What’s different about my business and about the healing work I do with my clients, is that we let go of the chase entirely and experience the joy, sense of safety, and fulfillment now. And believe it or not, this leads to even more success. This leads to abundance not just in your business, but also in other areas of your life. You experience a sense of sustainable growth instead of an exhausting all out sprint to the next level. You get to spend time with your family and don’t have to live on the roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship anymore. And most importantly, you get the freedom you set out to create when you started your business. Most of us are trapped by our businesses because we define ourselves by our businesses. If the business is doing bad that means we are bad. If the business isn’t growing as quickly that means something about us. When we can separate ourselves from our businesses and do the necessary healing work to make that possible, finally we get the freedom we thought we would have when we started this whole thing. And my mission is to help as many people as possible realize that they can have the freedom now, not after the next goal is achieved.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s too many to count! It really depends on the vibe. I have friends who would want to do all the touristy things – in which case I love Griffith Observatory – and others who would want to be more relaxed and just enjoy the energy of the city and wherever that leads us. I like being totally open and wandering. You find the best hidden gems when you’re open to anything.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m so grateful to my husband for supporting me since day one in my business. Even in the times when I didn’t believe in myself, my husband believed in me. Even in the times when I felt like a failure, he could still see that I was destined for success. I could not be where I am today without him.
