We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theo, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Hello and thank you for having me!  When people ask what line of business I’m in, it can be a bit tricky to answer, but I guess you could say that I’m sort of an Energy Dealer and in the business of dealing HIGH VIBRATIONS!  I like to spread universal love whether I’m writing a song, slanging pizzas, energy healing, running a meditation or doing a photoshoot. I believe that true impact comes from starting within, through our character and how we choose to move in our daily lives. Your energy is like a ripple effect and can change the energy of anyone you come into contact with which is why it’s so important to be aware of our own energy and how it’s affecting the universe.

When it comes to Reiki, I believe this to have a huge impact on society.  Energy healing can help reconnect us with our higher selves and shine a light in the areas of our lives that may need some extra TLC. These can be areas that we’ve ignored, weren’t aware of or were too scared to confront. It’s important to be aware of these issues because when we’re blocked it keeps us in a lower vibration which can prevent us from living our best lives…and let’s be real, when we’re unhappy ain’t nobody happy…again, the ripple effect of energy!  It can be difficult, but the key is to be open to receiving healing.  It’s a true act of self-love, we can all do it and it truly helps make a change in the world when we work on ourselves. Energy is EVERYTHING!

Specifically with photography, I hope to inspire my clients to remember how beautiful and powerful they are from the inside out. Most people feel very shy or insecure in front of the camera, so I love it when they leave a session feeling lighter, empowered and activated. When they leave with those higher vibrations, they will in turn give those same vibrations out to others which honestly is a great way to make change.

2022 is about using my voice for change and fully stepping into my power especially as a singer/song-writer.  I hope to spread a message of love, healing and resilience to everyone who is in need of support.  I am just getting started so can’t wait to see what I create this year!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Absolutely and thank you for the support!  My work/art isn’t always tangible or something you can see, hear or touch, but it’s a feeling.  Sometimes it’s translated through music, reiki healing, food and photography. Other times it’s through alchemizing negative into positive through a conversation or simple hug.  I take pride in providing a safe place for others to feel vulnerable and I’m always grateful to be a part of someone else’s healing journey.  It’s empowering to see others activate and evolve into stronger, happier and more confident versions of themselves!  My hope is to help inspire others to find their North Star, heal and be able to fully step into their power.  It’s never too late!

The dream is to combine energy healing with music, so this year will be about creating music with a higher purpose to serve the masses and help bring us together as humanity.   I’m also currently creating workshops for individuals, groups and couples who want to dive deeper into connecting with their soul fire, so be on the lookout for that if you’re feeling called to check it out.  It’ll be a fun and soul-fulfilling experience!  You can follow me on Instagram at @iammisstheo to keep up with the creations and join the journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the main reasons I love LA is that there’s always something to explore and I never get bored. You don’t need a lot of money to have fun either.

Some of my must do’s are visiting the beaches (Venice for that SoCal culture, Santa Monica for that LA vibe, Malibu for beauty and seafood eats, South Bay for a calmer experience), hiking all over LA (there are so many options I can’t list them all here, but I love Malibu since you can see the ocean which feels like a reward when you get to the top), Perch rooftop in DTLA for a nice sunset view of the city + fancy drinks, Hollywood Bowl for an amazing music experience, and Griffith Observatory to learn about space and beyond. This is just the tip of the iceberg because there is so much more that this city provides!

At the top of the list is FOOD. You can experience all types of food in LA which is so dope. I’ve had so much delicious food here from Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Brazilian, Italian, Japanese, New American, Ethiopian and more! Food is love and I love food. I gained 30 pounds when I first moved here…that’s how good it is hahaha.

Without the mishmash of people and cultures, LA wouldn’t be the City of Angels. LA is full of dreamers and I love that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love this!

I am incredibly thankful for my twin soul sister and music mentor Kisa Hakeem. Through many transitions and transformations, she has been a constant source of light, support and unconditional love. She held faith when I had close to none and kept a candle lit in my darkest moments. I’m so grateful for the gift of her partnership in life, spirituality and music. She is truly a blessing from source!

Sara Wong of Energy Haus is an incredible healer/activator. In my toughest phase of life, my best friend Jessica Chow (shout out to her as well!) took me to Sara for a healing session. Since then, my life has forever changed. She has become a dear friend and has shown me so many tools for healing. With her help, I’ve regained my power and am growing into the healing artist I was meant to be. She’s from the stars!

To my friends and family who cared for me even though they didn’t understand what I was going through. I thank you. To those who invited me over for a home-cooked meal, gave me a place to sleep and a shoulder to cry on. I thank you. Sam, Jenny, Jess, Raj, Lilian and Elisa. I am so grateful for your unconditional love and support!

To anyone who’s ever shared their light, some kindness or a helping hand to me, I appreciate you!

Lastly, my parents who have had their own share of sacrifices and transitions. Thank you for giving me the space to heal and grow into my purpose. Oh and for being patient even though you wish I was already married with kids HA!
