Meet Larriet Emari | President & Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Larriet Emari and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larriet, how do you think about risk?
I think with risk there’s needs to be a balance. I think too much risk especially without planning will get you in trouble and with too little risk it’ll enable you to stay in your comfort zone and hinder your growth. Some risk are calculated and some risk you have to jump right then and there. You can only pray and believe that it’s the right decision and if not you have the ability to get back up but at least you learned and you followed your heart or what you believed was right. What you gain if you may not land where you want and even if you do is wisdom or knowledge to help you get closer to where you want be.
I consider myself a risk taker because I feel like, that is apart of experiencing life in its entirety. Following those desires of your heart and getting out of your comfort zone that will bring good to you and others around you in the end, will open you up in positive ways. I took a risk in running my own business and it’s not always easy. You don’t know how you’re going to pay bills and there’s also a mental struggle to where you may feel like you’re not good enough but as long as you put the effort, time, always be aware of why you’re doing it, and proper rest you know you’re going to eventually get to where you want be. I’m comforted in knowing that I’m closer to my goals and what I really want to accomplish in life and that makes the struggles easier. You have to fall in love with the journey. I feel with risk along with planning and steps on how, you experience life to its fullest. This way, you can also be a light and help lead the way for others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aside from running a family business, I am also a creator/artist. I compose music, produce, write, direct and edit short films, I like to take photos as well and I freelance graphic design. I love to express myself through art, for me it’s a healing and release source for my life. Expressing all of life moments whether good or bad helps me and in turn helps others. People can relate. I think that’s what sets me apart. I’m most proud of coming on two years that my company has been officially open even though it’s not quite where I want it to be yet , it just reminds me of how far I and my team have come.
My family being in the entertainment industry in the early 2000’s, going to school for music business, and overall just experiencing life have helped place me where I am now. The road hasn’t been easy, like I said sometimes it feels like you’re at a dead end or you may just simply feel like you’ve failed because you haven’t reached your goals yet. What helps me to overcome is my faith in God and knowing that this road will lead me to exactly where I want to be in my life. I fell in love with the journey because I’m doing what I love no matter the scale that may be on, big or small. My family is a huge help as well.
One thing I’ve learned is you can’t rush and anything great and good is going to take time and effort. You just have to keep the faith and take it day by day. Ultimately I just want to be a light for others and that’s what I want my company Ha La Entertainment/Soul&Gutta to represent, through our music, films, and our art. You can be who you want to be, this life is yours for the taking.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
On Monday, we’d eat breakfast eat at Good Neighbor Restaurant then head over to Huntington Library and troll through the Japanese gardens. After that, we would go to LACMA to see the art. To top the day off, late night we would go to After’s Ice Cream for their homemade ice cream, I recommend cookie monster sooo good.
During the rest of the week, we would hit up art museums like The Broad, bike along the strand, stop at Taco trucks, watch a move outdoors at Melrose Rooftop Theatre, visit Walt Disney Concert Hall to admire the architecture, visit Nispey Hussle mural in Hollywood, stop at Griffith Observatory and get a look of LA at night, visit the Grove to do some shopping, walk on Sunset strip, and finally make sure we get plenty of In-N-Out trips in.
At the end of the week on Friday, we’d drive down Pacific Coast Highway starting from the top. We’d stop at Neptunes Net a popular seafood place famous for movies filmed there such as The Fast and The Furious and the food is awesome.
Next would be, El Matador State Beach in Malibu. Get in a little hike before reaching the beautiful views of the ocean crashing against the rocks. Lounge for a little bit, and then make our way to Santa Monica Pier and Venice to see the sites and sounds and soak up the culture. For dinner, we’d go to Roscoes Chicken and Waffles for well, chicken and those buttery waffles.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout my family and also my company partners Ha La Entertainment/Soul&Gutta as well as my best friend Em. We have been through so much together and we all push each other to be better. Thank you guys for helping me to be the person I am today.
