We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Kang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what do you attribute your success to?
It’s all about taking risks. Taking a chance and going after what I want no matter how “realistic” or not it may seem to others or even to myself. You never know how it might end up but you miss 100% of your shots you don’t take. I also make sure I surround myself with people I can trust and push me to become better. The moment I find myself not in that situation then I pivot and make adjustments. You have to be adaptable in any industry you are in especially when it comes to Real Estate.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Before I got into Real Estate I was an actor. It’s common for people to transition from one to the other and there is a reason for that. Both have parallels to each other. You are always hustling for the next job and the work is never consistent in the beginning, but at the end of the day its all about being empathic and creating relationships with the people you work with. That is what I am good and and proud of. Being able to gain the trust of my clients because I empathize with them on the pain, struggle and joy they will go through with the real estate process. I’ve always been in the industry of serving people to the best of my ability. I get excited when I can help someone in need and we are able to work together in unison. I’m at where I am today because people have placed their trust in me and I take it very serious to never take it for granted.
I’ll have ups and downs but thats just life. You get past it by having a support team around you to help you get through it, mine specifically is my family and team. I’ve learned throughout my time that nothing will ever go according to plan no matter what other people say in my opinion. Its all about reacting to the moments that come and what your actions do to overcome them.
I’ve switched careers in my life to try to find the business that makes me happy and help support the life I have with my family. I just want people out there who reads this to know that the path to success is not a straight line. It is ok to make adjustments when you feel like its necessary. Always do what is best for you! Go after what you want, no one else is living your life.
Another thing is that you are not going to make it alone, so find the people you want to grow and succeed with and I promise it’ll work out at the end… wherever that may take you!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The city of Angels! We would go check out the grove to grab some amazing sushi over at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill, do some shopping over in the Beverly Hills while also do some window shopping of all the amazing homes on that west side as well. Show them homes and stores that you normally wouldnt see outside of Los Angeles. But more importantly I would take them to the beaches that we have to offer. Manhattan, Malibu and my personal favorite over at Palos Verdes. Showing the amazing views that will make them gleam of joy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are too many people to shout out too, but I’ll have to say in the beginning I want to thank my friends Martin Ruskov and Rob Moravsky. They were in the real estate industry for a while and introduced and gave me guidance getting into it. So I credit them for getting me started for sure. I was then brought into the brokerage COMPASS on the LA Homegirl team thanks to Sarah Chung who introduced me to Kenya Reeves Costa. Her and the rest of the team welcomed me, gave me the confidence and advice I needed to close some significant deals. Along the way I’ve forged friendships with other coworkers such as Blake Stargel, Meg Lavian and others. But the most important group to shoutout has to be my family. No one has believed, loved and supported my business decisions more than my family. They are everything to me and the reason why I keep striving to become better both in life and in my business.
