We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandy Millan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandy, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson that has helped me through my small business is to be resilient and consistent. Being very strong through the hard obstacles and challenges that are thrown at me as a small business owner can be very tough. But it is very important to have a strong and positive mindset and I believe that everything will have its timing and will fall into place. And also trusting the process as well as learning along the way is something that I always keep in mind.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am excited about sharing my style and fashion with all the women that love clothing and jewelry like myself. I wanted to also make my brand affordable for young girls and women to shop at. Even though it has been such an amazing experience to start my small business there have been so many things that I have learned along the way that has helped me to where I am now. Which is to start regardless of where you are at because you learn along the way as you grow. And that has helped me through challenges and obstacles in my business because it has taught me what to do and what not to do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are many adventures and places I would take my best friend on a week-long trip, especially in Manhattan Beach there is a restaurant called Joey’s and they have amazing sliders and appetizers. definitely, a place to spend quality time with friends and family. I also would take my bestie to Markets to support local small businesses and see amazing handmade goods. A well-known Market called Angel City Market and the Melrose Trading Post is an amazing market to walk and support many small businesses. I also would take my bestie to art museums in Los Angeles because you get to see unique art pieces and take photos of amazing art displays.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several people that have helped me through my journey and I could have not done it without the support of my family, friends, and customers. It is super encouraging to be surrounded by people that support your dream and push you to be your best. I would love to give a huge shout-out to them for always giving me words of compassion and encouragement because it helps me to keep going and show up every day for myself and my small business.
