Meet Rina Mora | Visionary Business Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rina Mora and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rina, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson that I have learned in my career in business has been to Never Quit. Tiny but Mighty Coaching is my second business. When I first went into business for myself back in the early 2000’s I had no idea what I was doing as a business owner. Luckily for me, I had some management and supervising training under my belt, but nothing that really prepared me to be a business owner. Needless to say, I fell flat on my face the first go around. I learned a lot of really hard lessons with that experience. The biggest one is to pay attention and never quit.
I learned that failure is a part of the process. When we fall, we get the best view of where we misstepped. I had a choice, I could give up or I could learn from my experience and get back at it. It was really all up to me. If I really wanted to make my dreams a reality I had to get back up and keep going. That is exactly what I did. I just kept going and growing. I paid attention to what did and did not work and I continued to evolve. Whenever I fell, I picked myself up and kept going.
If I hadn’t given myself permission to fail, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Today, I am a visionary business coach helping solo and small business owners achieve their own dreams of success. Being successful is a journey filled with lessons. The more you are willing to fail and get back up, the more likely you are to succeed. I believe that if you do the work, you can have whatever you want, but if you give up and quit… you never will.
To achieve big things, you have to decide every day, over and over again to get up and just keep going.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my business is called Tiny but Mighty Coaching. I am a Visionary Business Coach. I work with Small and Solo owned businesses in the areas of business development, operations, and growth. Helping my clients get clear on their vision and their business goals. Together we create the right systems that support more efficiency and productivity to help them hit their target.
I believe the one thing that sets me apart is my approach. I start with the end in mind. What is the ultimate goal? How long would they like to take to get there? I do this by focusing on a few key elements. Starting with getting clear on what it is that they want, what they do, who they do it for, and how.
The next steps are task and time management and creating a solid action plan to make it happen. I do this by creating micro-goals that build on each other to get them to the main goal, “The WIN”! What I love most about this is how it empowers the client to keep going and growing themselves and their business. There really is nothing like getting that message saying, “I did it, I hit my goal!”
I learned most of these skills from running my first business as a massage therapist. Every time I fell, I learned something new about myself and my business. I had no choice if I wanted to succeed. I had to learn better task & time management if I wanted to keep the lights on, and I needed to master them if I wanted to continue to grow my business. I had to learn what systems worked for me to not only be present in my business but how to also be efficient with my time and actions.
Was it easy? No way. Has it been worth it Heck Ya! I have always known that my purpose is to help others. For many years I thought that would be through touch as a massage therapist. What I know now, is that that business was my schooling for bigger things. I had to learn and figure out what worked for me, and how to figure that all out. Now I use that skill to help my clients do the same thing and with great success.
When I tell you I love what I do, I really mean, I love what I do. I walk the walk and I talk the talk and because of that, my clients trust me. They do the work and they get the rewards.
Success isn’t easy but it is worth it. All you have to do is follow the system, stay focused, get excited, and Never Quit! If you want it, you can have it. You just have to do the work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our first stop would be the beach. Mother nature is the best attraction in my opinion. From there we would go grab a bite somewhere scenic and delicious like the Sea level at the Redondo Shade Hotel or Vista in Hermosa Beach. I would make sure we made a stop at my favorite spot in Redondo Beach, Friends of the Vine. The owners here are extremely hospitable and they have a beautiful outdoor patio with fire pits to enjoy. I would make sure to take my guest on a drive through Palos Verdes and maybe stop for a hike on the trails or go down to the tide pools. Perhaps see if we could find some live music at Terranea. One day we would spend up in the LA/Hollywood area. Hit up a museum, maybe LACMA, or installation, Banksy is still here. Maybe grab a snack on a fun rooftop downtown or in West Hollywood. If it is a weekend, I would find a fun party or artsy event to enjoy and people-watch.
In my view, the beach is a great place to spend your whole day. Start with a bike ride or a beach walk. Grab some lunch on a nice outdoor patio and finish it watching the sunset before a nice meal somewhere like Love and Salt in Manhattan Beach. If we are really feeling festive we could go to Georgia’s for an after-dinner drink and good conversation at a fire pit table.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been blessed to be surrounded by amazing mentors in my life. Some you may be familiar with like Jim Rohn and Les Brown. The one that really stands out for me above them all is a very dear friend of mine and the one that took me under his wing during my very first year in business. This man said something to me early on and fortunately for me, I believed him. He told me “Chica, you can run anything you want to.” I took that statement and ran with it! His name is Cezar Mansour and without his support and guidance over the last twenty-some years, I really don’t know that I would have dared to take some of the chances that I have. Get someone in your corner that sees the greatness in you. Listen to them, trust them and lean on them during your challenging times. We all need the right mentor and cheerleader on our side on the road to success, because when you fall, they will be the ones to pick you up.
