We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Bushy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was a reflection of what is valuable in life. My business partner and myself were discussing the uncertainty during Covid- how will we adjust post pandemic? What will people need during the pandemic to survive? What are people looking for?

We started social listening on social media to understand that people are looking for the moment to just kick back and breathe. It seems like everyone was seeking a certain cadence. Something to help them feel established and okay. So we asked ourselves, how do we support this need? What can we do to reinforce the moment is okay? That the moment might even be better than okay?

We started developing the breadth of Vita Mia to align with the company mission.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a novice painter and brand and marketing strategist that is currently working towards an MBA at Syracuse University. it was not easy and it is not easy in the sense of the journey that it takes to grow professionally: trial and error, supplementary courses, etc. However it is easy in the sense that it is what I love to do. I do not struggle to work and to build my career because the time seems to fly by while I work. The lesson I learned early on is that it is possible to find a profession that makes you happy as long as you are willing to be true to yourself and to your needs.

This professional core is the bedrock of Vita Mia. Our brand story is about perseverance and self-recognition. It is about finding the moments to celebrate and actually celebrate them. It is also about perspective. We can take a step back and look at the world and see it as a steadfast reflection of ourselves. Or we can look at the world and choose to align with the beautiful aspects that inspire us to be our true selves.
