We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Ware and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had a passion for skincare and the beauty industry since childhood. I had problematic skin growing up and was always searching for the best remedies to care for my skin and keep it healthy. At a period in my life as an adult, I was at a crossroads as to what career path I should take. Never losing my strong interest and desire for skincare, I decided to take the leap and pursue my dream of becoming a licensed Esthetician. After many years of working where I provided my professional services under other people’s businesses and strong encouragement from my mother, I decided to take a leap of faith and venture out on my own. I did this for many reasons: 1) Truly realizing life is too short after my mother’s passing to not do what you love while you’re alive; 2) I could make set my own schedule; 3) Generate income that does not require me to split the proceeds; 4) Build my own clientele that I can connect with and provide good quality skincare.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My approach of being a licensed esthetician goes beyond giving my clients facials and sending them on their way. It is very important that I connect with my clients and seriously provide the best skincare needs for their particular skin. I’m conscientious about how the area is set up and perform my work from a place of compassion and sincerity. My clients often tell me that they always feel so good after leaving me and that they can’t wait to come back for their next appointment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Paradise Cove, LACMA or MOMA, Katsuya, Universal Studios, Disney Land.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother and family for all of their encouragement, support and strong belief that I have it in me to succeed.

My mentor in life, Daisaku Ikeda, President of SGI. One of his quotes that use for inspiration is: “When your determination changes, everything else begins to move in the direction you desire. The moment you resolve to be victorious, every nerve and fiber in your being immediately orient themselves toward your success.”
