Meet Maisy Crawford | Owner of COWGRLCROCHETS

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maisy Crawford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maisy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I decided to start up my business during Covid. The rumours about a ‘freedom day’ had begun and I was ready to start making my clothes for festival season having learnt how to crochet during lockdown. After I made the first few pieces I had so many of my friends telling me that I should start to sell my stuff. I then set up an instagram page and it kind of just grew from there!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business COWGRLCROCHETS is completely self made by me! I have had 0 involvement from anyone else. All of the website, graphic design, social media, and crochet is made solely by me!! I have been heavily influenced by the festival and rave scene and I try to create completely original designs from this inspiration that people can wear to events and feel as though they have invested inflow fashion and shopped responsibly. I have gotten to this point in my business with constant hard work; I am also currently studying Textile Design at Central Saint Martins so at times it has been a real juggling act but my love for my brand has helped me to pull it all together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a massive shoutout to my Mum. She is the reason that I am creative and also the person who gave me the confidence to begin my business as she is a small business owner herself. go and check her out!! @birdmodern.vintage on instagram 🙂
