We had the good fortune of connecting with Tay Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tay, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started this business so that I could grow, and also so that I could help other beauty artists. I provide opportunities for other beauty artists to connect, share their knowledge, make an income, have flexible hours, and help each other grow. I offer customized training, advice, encouragement, and mentoring to help others succeed. Each artist I work with has the opportunity to succeed, and that is one of the reasons why I started my own business.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We have a very diverse team with an amazing skill set. We can instantly create a look that is perfect for every customer. We understand that different hair types and skin tones require different treatments. We pride ourselves in being able to work with all skin tones and hair types and get amazing results every time. I have worked for some On-Demand Beauty companies and knew how valuable the platform is. I learned all I needed to know about marketing, the business, and the ups and downs I needed to be aware of. I took everything I learned and created my own company. A lot of the skills I learned while working in beauty came in handy when I opened my own business.
I love what I do, and my passion grows everyday. I love meeting new clients and providing them with the best service. I have a passion for hair, and beauty. I love to create long lasting styles for my wedding clients. I have been doing this for 26 years and I know what it takes to provide the best hair treatment and products for my clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not too much of an outgoing person unless it has to do with work. But I would definitely take them to Flapper Comedy Club in Burbank to get a good laugh.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Word of mouth is the best way to advertise and grow your business. I want to personally thank my clients for referring other clients to me. They have been with me since the beginning and helped me build my business. I want to give a special shout out to my wonderful clients who believes in me and helps me grow.
