We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Montes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
While juggling my 9-5, Goldn Mau and my personal life; work life balance has been one of my biggest challenges. However, I have made many improvements to be able to manage time more efficiently. Over time I have learned that sometimes less is more and setting manageable goals each day helps me feel more accomplished and less stressed. Prioritizing my health, exercise, having a well balance diet and giving my self breaks has been one of the major changes I’ve made to be able to refresh.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a young adult I often struggled to find quality jewelry at an affordable price. I wanted to create a unisex brand that offers quality jewelry at an affordable price to help others with the same struggle. Goldn Mau was created with the belief that style is an expression that should not be limited by your budget. All of our accessories are carefully curated and sourced with love and excitement to deliver to our customers. Our biggest motivation and inspiration is allowing people to feel good through expressing themselves and their style no matter their budget. We see too many overpriced products out there, and we want to earn loyal customers that come back any time they want to accessorize rather than overcharge them once.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is such a fun and diverse city and I almost don’t know where to start! A cool local date night would be checking out a new exhibit at The Broad Museum (best part it is free) and then dinner and Drinks at Otium next door. I recommend the grilled octopus and their naan bread is the best. I also frequent The Grand Central Market love all the food vendors there. For a mellow cocktail night with a divey vibe China Town has great bars and music. My favorite is The Melody Lounge the manager Bles does a good job booking great DJ’s. Apotheke and Ace Hotel are also fun places to hang out at night. Of course you can’t miss out on our beautiful weather and enjoy being outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do is visit the South Bay beaches like Hermosa, Redondo and Manhattan. There also tons of fun hiking trails that you should check out.

I’m beyond thankful for all of the support and encouragement of my close friends and family. I’m especially grateful for my partner for all his support and help with pop ups, photoshoots and much more! Therefore, this shoutout is dedicated to you all.
