We had the good fortune of connecting with Jovan Hannah and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jovan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success I have had so far is life itself. I choose colors and scents to represent a different part of life rather new or classic. The different scents for the variety of people who have had the chance to experience them always say it brings them back to a situation they were going through. In nature, nothing is the same and yet, its a beautiful encounter just like our products.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Currently, I manage a shipping section at a warehouse. I have been doing that type of work forever. What I am most proud of is I now am a licensed forklift driver! That has been a dream of mine since i started in warehouse. Getting to place where you are proud of what you do is never easy. Having to overcome layoffs, office drama, forgetting to set your alarm, superiors and seasoned workers thinking they have control over your life, to traffic. Lessons I have had to learn are, trials are part of the journey and to slow down and take things day by day. By doing things too fast, crucial steps are bound to be missed. World listen up, this brand is one thing that can not be duplicated. I have studied, researched, failed and succeeded within the last the 3 years. One steady constant is every single person that has even walked past our table or visited or home or customers homes have left with a pleasant smile on their face from our scents. We put health before wealth. All good candle companies don’t have the consumers health in mind first. Read some of the labels your used to and research the ingredients. We promote healthy living with our brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So in Oak Brook, there is a place called Putt Shack. Great music, great food, and INDOOR MINI GOLF! No more letting the wind take all the credit. Going to North Avenue Beach in Chicago is a great way to cool of during the summer. If ever you get hungry you have to stop by Harold’s Chicken Shack, the mild sauce and lemon pepper wings with the bread on the bottom, heaven! Also dancing in the suburbs, have to check out Drink Night Club near Woodfield Mall wear you have to shop of course. The best thing to do is check out The Chicago Botanical Gardens! You will automatically be impressed.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a Shout Out to my moms Deena. Multitasking queen she is. She has like 10 different businesses and a million other things going on. She somehow manages to be my BIGGEST supporter/customer!
