We had the good fortune of connecting with Tadashi ‘Tad’ Kondo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tadashi ‘Tad’, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Most people probably don’t realize how much networking amongst other agents it takes to be successful in the Real Estate business. We are constantly working to build a good rapport not just among clientele, but also with the local community we work in and our peers. Building a solid reputation is vital to the business. Agents want to work with other agents that have good rapport. Working with agents that are unresponsive, unexperienced, or egocentric can be the roadblock to the home of a buyer or sellers dreams. Who you work with truly matters!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Working with the right people is what ignited my career. Being able to work with people with the same vision and goals helps create a synergy in the workplace and solid foundation to build on. I started my career in 2004 with many successes at Century 21 and Keller Williams, and in 2014 I started my team The Kondo Group. Today, we are 12 agents and staff and one of the biggest teams in the South Bay, where we focus our business. However, we go where our clients take us – from San Diego, Big Bear or even Nor Cal. Success doesn’t come without challenges, especially in Real Estate, where you are on call 24/7. It’s easy to burn out, which is why a team is so beneficial. We can lean on each other, brainstorm, and help each other out. We strive to provide our clients with amazing service, as buying and selling a home is one of the most stressful transactions in one’s life. Our focus is always on serving our clients with honesty, integrity and discretion, as dependable and knowledgeable realtors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We are based in the South Bay, so I would grab a seafood lunch in Redondo Beach then check out the sunset at Nelson’s Terranea Resort over some appetizers and dinner. The next day I’d take them to some of our amazing hiking trails we have in Palos Verdes, such as Del Cerro Park, which overlooks the ragged coastline and enjoys views of Catalina Island. You have to bike the strand from Redondo to Manhattan Beach for a whole beach tour. We have a handful of golf courses on the Palos Verdes Hill, so have to check out To end it off, I would enjoy the Queen’s Necklace view overlooking the Santa Monica bay. Some great local restaurants to check out are Compagnon Wine Bistro, a delicious French restaurant in San Pedro’s downtown and Manpuku, a Japanese BBQ spot in Torrance.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shout out to my amazing team. Without them, none of our successes would be possible. We all grow together and support each other to make dreams come true!
