Meet Lisa Rasmussen MFA | Holistic Women’s Art Empowerment Practitioner: Life Coach, Retreat Facilitator, Workshop Facilitator, and Professional Spiritual Abstract Expressionism Painter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Rasmussen MFA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Art Transforms lives. I navigate individuals, groups, and communities into the Art of empowerment. Through inner and outer journeys of tapping into ones own Flow. Their own river of creativity, self care, love, and light. I teach and influence people to swim in the ocean of creativity and to thrive in the liminal. Embodying the Art of Life. I have worked with a wide spectrum of populations: From the under served elder communities, to emotionally traumatized children in mental health facilities, to teens in JV, to Artists, to Healers. Lastly, to individuals who want to transform and reach their highest creative potential.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ever since I was a child I have been fascinated with the liminal —- the neither here nor there, the betwixt or the in-between. The ancient Celts called this state Caol-ait or thin places, where the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds merge.
When I paint, I penetrate a threshold that allows me to enter this realm of consciousness, where one can explore the interflow between soul and matter, and between time and eternity. It is a realm of pure possibility.
My art is a recorded event of my deep interest in mysticism and the natural world, as well as a passageway into my own mythical inversion of reality. I see my paintings as portals; visual archives that tap into my unconscious. My surfaces are painted over layers of symbols and forms, recalling cave walls and ritual chambers. Many of my paintings are inspired by my study of ancient cultures and travel to sacred sites around the globe where animistic worldviews encompassed a belief in a magical Other World.
I believe that art is intrinsic to the nurturance of the human spirit and that artists true essence is transformative. In all my work I seek to honor that state of the soul when the artist experiences the ultimate liberation, which is the personal act of creation itself.
I am a life Artist. Arts has saved and healed my life, my trauma, and my wounds. I have latent social phobia and I use/teach art as a healing modality. Lisa Rasmussen MFA. Through the process of Art I have transcended my limiting beliefs about myself. I have re-patterned my life story and dreams to be in Service to the world. Art is healing force and Art is everyone’s Super Power.
I am award winning Artist and an acclaimed Arts & Healing Practitioner. Transformative Leader, Creative & Intuitive Life Coach. As well as an painter, educator, curator, art advocate, and animal rights advocate, who believes that art can change and heal the world. I have over 19 plus years of art and healing teaching/mentoring with Women and At-Risk populations. I have developed multiple Transformative Art (Arts and Healing) Programs and art exhibitions for At-Risk Teens and Elders.
I am an award-winning professional painter, who has been represented in galleries in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. As well as my work has been in numerous solo and group exhibits and publications. For me my painting are a very visceral, physical, and metaphysical process. My paintings have been called abstract expressionism, with a spiritual twist. They also reflect my holistic worldview and my deep connection with the natural world. For me, art making is a transcendental and spiritual experience. When I paint, I taps into a force greater than myself; a force that creates through me. Each painting is a product of my dance with divinity. Through my process I hope to invoke in herself and the viewer a deeper connection to the world within and around us through reflection and inspiration. Early on I developed a thirst for travel and distant cultures. A key conceptual element of my artistic process is the study and travel to ancient cultures and sacred sites around the world. Some of my travel adventures include Nepal, Peru, Ireland, Bali, Greece, Egypt, and Brazil. I have also lived and taught English in the mountains of South, China, as well as I have studied antiquities, the Art of the Renaissance, and Ceramics in Florence, Italy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
