Meet Sam Pantastico | Body piercer/ jeweler

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Pantastico and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, what’s your definition for success?
Success is a feeling. Like everything else in life. What gives me the feeling of complete success?
Seeing my fiancé smile. Drinking coffee on the balcony in the morning. Rolling around on the floor with my dogs. Sitting by the ocean.
Granted, perfecting my craft, Working hard, earning a certain amount of money enables me to feel secure and frees up my mind to be able to focus on the things that bring me the feeling of success. Which in turn gives me the feeling of overwhelming gratitude.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My introduction into the piercing world was a turbulent one. I had no guidance. I had no other respectable pierces around me to help mentor me so I had to figure it out on my own. I think this start to my career left me with a deep set imposter syndrome, which took me a long time to overcome. Just like any competitive industry, the body piercing world can be a little abrasive. In some respects, there’s a lot of segregation within the industry.

But it is certainly not the industry as a whole.
I have found unwavering support, lifelong friendships, and a community that I am proud to be a part of.

This is also reflected in my work, and in my brand.
To be confident and proud of who you are, and what you are capable of.
To not let initial experiences dictate what happens in the future.
It has taught me to make the effort for other people. To help them become better at their craft, or even a better person if you have the ability to do so.

My approach to piercing is all about human connection. To respect the trust the client has in you, and to not only give them a well executed piercing with beautiful jewelry, but to give them a beautiful memory that goes along with it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My partner, Lisa. You could spend 10 minutes in her company and give me a list as long as your arm of why I am the luckiest man in the world.
But the real reason is her love and drive for life.
She is the most inspiring person I’ve ever been in the company of, I’ve never had anybody believe in me the way she does. I’ve never had anybody push me to continually level up like she does. She takes away all roadblocks that I put up for myself, and shows me a clear path to success. And she does this in the most loving and empowering way.
