Hi Riccardo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In the heart of adversity, where isolation and uncertainty reigned supreme, a seed of creativity was sown that would eventually blossom into the dynamic entity known as Film33 Studios. The story of its inception, born from the shared experiences of Riccardo Vincenzi and Jacob Gonzales during their COVID-induced confinement, stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and unwavering determination. As the world grappled with the unprecedented challenges brought forth by the COVID-19 pandemic, Riccardo Vincenzi and Jacob Gonzales found themselves thrust into a unique circumstance. Bound by a shared living space due to their COVID diagnoses, the duo refused to succumb to the limitations of their situation. Instead, they saw an opportunity—an opportunity to channel their collective energy and passion for filmmaking into something extraordinary.
Out of the confined walls of their shared space emerged a vision that would transform their lives and the world of filmmaking. Film33 Studios, a name that echoes creativity, innovation, and excellence, was conceived during those weeks of confinement. Riccardo and Jacob recognized a common goal—to create a film production company that would stand as a beacon of quality, dedication, and storytelling prowess.
Central to Film33 Studios’ ethos was an unwavering commitment to producing the highest quality content. Riccardo and Jacob envisioned a company that would not only meet industry standards but surpass them. Less than two years after its formal establishment as an LLC, Film33 Studios had blossomed from a nascent idea into a fully equipped and thriving entity. The studio’s physical presence in the vibrant hub of creativity, Culver City, was a testament to their unrelenting determination.

The studio’s growth was further fueled by the addition of two visionary partners, expanding the collective creative genius and augmenting its diverse expertise. Moving to the vibrant city of Los Angeles presented me with the opportunity to turn the dream of shooting on film into reality. With access to film stock, development labs, and scanning facilities, we embarked on a journey to embrace the beauty of analog cinematography. My commitment to this craft is a reflection of my passion for storytelling and desire to capture moments that resonate deeply with audiences. I’ve learned that authenticity is the cornerstone of artistic expression. The imperfections and nuances inherent in film are what give it its unique charm. Embracing these characteristics and allowing them to become part of the narrative is a powerful lesson. Additionally, collaboration and a willingness to learn from others have been instrumental in my growth. Lastly, the journey itself is as important as the destination, and every frame shot on film carries a piece of the filmmaker’s soul.
I want the world to see that the art of shooting on film is a testament to the timeless beauty of cinema. My journey, marked by a dedication to analog storytelling, reflects the power of embracing tradition while pushing creative boundaries.
