Hi Jacque, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Zimbabwe. My upbringing impacted me in a major way. My parents success, gave me a mindset that I live by today. “ No one owes you anything. That self pity moment has to be a moment. Taste, chew, digest and move on. “

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Hollywood Celebrity Union makeup artist and also an owner of a makeup brand Jacque Mgido Cosmetics. I am mostly excited about how my craft has changed my counties outlook. Makeup has created jobs and opportunities for women and men in an unbelievable way. My opportunities have served it’s purpose in life. Travel overseas learn a skill and teach a nation. I am here today in my profession mainly because of my husband who dreamt beyond my imagination. He believed in me and through love he showed me that I can work hard, imagine hard and results will come. I went from maid to Hollywood makeup artist . My challenges where self love, my worth, finance, immigration paper approval and time . My faith plays a big part in overcoming. If I did not believe in something bigger than myself then I was never going to believe in anything. The lessons I have learnt along the way is patience, less judgement and less comparing myself to other businesses alike . I would like the world to know that as a person and brand owner . I am not just here to sell you a product . We are here to give you a life long experience and be part of you life changes and purpose be giving you the added confidence and love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to town. The first thing I would do is proudly take them on a LA tour. This was the America that I was promised. We would start off by the Hollywood sign. Best introduction,, then we would drive on the 405 everyone has to experience our highways . It is always a confirmation that you have been to LA. Topanga canyon is beautiful it is always a great way to show the vast landscape that LA provides. Topanga Canyon hills are absolutely spectacular and the winding roads are full of surprises especially when the the Malibu beaches just appear from the hills. Along the PCH you have a variety of restaurants to choose from.the most expensive to a couple of fish and chips shakes .. A little shopping in Santa Monica the drive into Beverly Hills . Rodeo drive is a must see. The evening will end in Playa Del Ray a little beach neighborhood that has one of my favorite restaurants Playa Provisions .

My mother Bessie Muchanyuka . A fabulous women that raised me and not once did I ever feel like a step child . Love you mum
