We had the good fortune of connecting with Simona Popovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simona, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I was a lawyer in Serbia, with pretty nice income and promising future in a law firm where I was working. Almost everyone said that I was completely insane for quitting that job and coming to LA to start something totally new in my late 30s. But I took that risk and so far didn’t regret it for a second. For me the biggest regret is regret for not trying something, not for not succeeding. Always follow your heart. Everything else can mislead you.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Good.Witch.Santa.Monica smudgesticks are made from plants organiCali grown in Good Witch’s garden in Santa Monica with lots of love and in partnership with Nature. They are ethically harvested with blessings and joy and then ocean breeze dried. We created our bundles from the plants that protect, cleanse and purify from ancient times and are considered as sacred in almost every culture. We use just enough of White Sage in our bundles and we grow it our own, because we respect the indigenous practices and because that’s how we 100% know plant was sustainably harvested and with good energy through whole process. That sets us apart from other smudgesticks producers. We really consider Nature as our partner in this project. We learn from her every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Topanga canyon hike with visiting spiral labyrinth during sunset. Burgers (for meat eaters) at Shaka burger (Santa Monica) Chandni indian restaurant (Santa Monica) for vegetarians. PCH drive with visiting El Matador beach Self Realizations temple, Palisades Broad museum Abbot Kinney coffee shops for coffee break.
