Meet Sabrina Zellis | Yoga & Wellness Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Zellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
This is such an interesting question. I would say my success as a yoga and wellness professional is rooted in my unwavering commitment to fostering a kind and supportive community while ensuring the accessibility of yoga for all. Whether it’s from my studio classes or my virtual studio FLOWbyBree. I’ve prioritized creating a space where individuals feel not only welcomed but embraced, cultivating deep connections through events and initiatives fueled by kindness. That kind of path has now taken me to an unexpected opportunity as the General Manager at Coachella Valley yoga, Palm Desert’s best yoga studio…I am not just saying that cause I’m biased…there was literally a vote a few years back LOL.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
OMG Where do I even begin?! My career in the wellness industry has been a journey of passion, resilience, and continuous growth. One thing I knew for sure is I wanted to use my degree in PR and marketing to keep me from solely being defined as a yogi. My energetic calling is dedicated to uplifting others across various aspects of wellness. With over 7 years of experience in corporate yoga at the top Yoga company in the country, I had the privilege of assisting over 2000 individuals in becoming Yoga Teachers, managing numerous workshops and trainings, managing a studio, and honing my expertise in yoga marketing. Witnessing the struggles of the wellness industry during the pandemic, I took decisive action. I transitioned my local studio online, and facilitated the move of teacher trainings to the digital realm.
I delved into content creation and corporate collaborations (with Lancome, Golds Gym, Yelp, Ralph Lauren and more), developing wellness programs for businesses. Recognizing the need to empower my community to navigate the online space confidently, I created the #dharmacourse, a comprehensive program covering Branding, Social Media, Collaborations, and creating Member Spaces. It’s more than a certification speech—it’s a true business of wellness course, enabling Wellpreneurs to share their offerings with confidence in the digital landscape.
This journey wasn’t without its challenges, and what propelled me forward was my faith, a willingness to invest in myself, and an openness to pivot. Instead of waiting for the status quo to return, I embraced the new normal and created opportunities that didnt once exist.
And though the great Beyonce told us all to quit our jobs… I will say working for yourself has many benefits but can be lonely. Especially when you are used to that brick + mortar community vibe in yoga. That’s what drove me to latest project in management + marketing of Coachella Valley. I can’t tell you how nice it is to see people in person and feel the energy of the classroom.
In essence, my story is a testament to the power of faith, adaptability, and self-investment. I want the world to know that success often comes from embracing change, being kind to oneself, and extending that kindness to others. In my journey, I’ve discovered that you never know who you may be called to help or who, in turn, may help you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Though my latest journey has taken me out to Palm Desert…I am still a South Bay wellness girly. My favorite bestie south bay tour includes brunch at Manhattan Beach Post, shopping at KatWalk Boutique, walking down to the pier, and grabbing a havana cappuccino at Peets Coffee.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my heartfelt shoutout to my family, whose unwavering support and encouragement have empowered me to explore untraditional paths and always pursue what makes my light shine. Their belief in me has been the bedrock of my journey. A special acknowledgment goes to my dedicated students, whose passion for the practice fuels my inspiration daily. Gratitude extends to my esteemed teachers, from the insightful guidance of Scott Hobbs to the collective wisdom shared by the exceptional instructors at YogaWorks over the past decade. To those I’ve had the privilege of guiding on their journey to becoming teachers, your growth has been my greatest reward. Lastly, immense thanks to the warm embrace of the Coachella Yoga community, who welcomed me with open arms. Each of you has played a pivotal role in shaping my story, and I am truly grateful for the light you’ve added to my journey.
