Hi Debra, what do you want people to remember about you?
I would like for my legacy to reflect on my poetry. I would like to be remembered as a Great poet, a Great orator and also for my love of family the arts and life

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My gift of poetry is one of my greatest assets. I can only attribute it to God’s Grace. My gift for writing was truly unexpected, I didn’t realize that I the ability to form words into a pattern of poems. The field of poetry is not an easy one to break into because of the great ones that came before me. I’m still striving and It’s going to happen. I would like to say be patient and stay focused on your craft and you will succeed

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Chicago is known for its amazing skyline which is lit up at night, the tall buildings, great restaurants the night life. Navy pier, and the amazing beaches. We would start at Gibson’s steak house where the steak melts in your mouth like butter. Walking along the beaches for the fantastic breeze. Then of course a Chicago Hot dog, or deep dish pizza always wins. We have to go to the tallest building The Willis Tower to look across the city. Navy Pier for fun and The Magnificent Mile for shopping. The night life along the River or up North Rush street to top off your evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For starters I will always give God the Glory because He is the one who gave me these gifts. My Special Shout out is to my family for always being my cheerleaders and my support system. They encourage me and give me ideas when I’m writing
