We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Bejarano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ana, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
For me, music is one of the most powerful forces in the world and I have always dreamt of writing timeless music that resonates with billions of people and makes them feel like they’re not alone. I would love for my songs to be played 50 or a hundred years from now; ultimately that is my end goal.

As a professional, I strike to get better everyday; I want to look back at my career and feel that I gave my 200% in every piece of work and accomplished every goal I set for myself, whether it was getting to work with people I wanted to create music with, numbers, awards or any personal dream.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I went to school for Music Production and moved to LA after graduating. In LA I started engineering for different producers and assisting other engineers, I got to work on amazing projects with artists that I had always looked up to. At the same time, I was constantly writing and collaborating and I was very blessed to land a job with a very experienced producer, who worked both making records and making music for film and TV. Working on many different genres and learning from amazing musicians has been incredibly exciting and constantly improving makes me feel really proud.

There are always daily challenges, whether creative or technical an it has become really important for me to read and educate myself on as many things as I can and gain tools that makes me confident to know that I can solve any issue that pops up in the studio or have the knowledge to approach different creative challenges.

Similarly, I have learnt the importance of building a network of friends that have similar goals and ambition so that we can all grow together, help each other and create amazing things.

I love making music and I constantly look for people to collaborate with, I love exploring new music, genres and strike to create music that inspires others and also innovates.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite plan in LA is hiking. My favorite hike is Griffith Observatory, I love the views going up and then having a little snack picnic at the top. After hiking, I would take my friend to Salt’s Cure in Hollywood to have brunch.

During the week we would definitely have to visit Point Due in Malibu, hike down to the beach, watch birds and then go to grab some ice cream. To watch the sunset I would go to Venice, I love all the little stores and finding cool souvenirs, watching skateboarders and grabbing a soft serve ice cream. At night we would go to downtown Burbank, where we would grab dinner at Granville and walk around the cute streets filled with lights.

One of the nights we would go to The Hotel Cafe or find a small show with up and coming artists and go around legendary studios in LA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother has been the most important person in my career. Moving from Colombia to LA during the pandemic was really difficult and the emotional support she gave me was key for me to keep pushing and finding opportunities to achieve my goals. Counting with unconditional love and support is such a blessing and a huge motivation to keep going despite of difficult circumstances or obstacles.
