We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymond Tavares and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raymond, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I think the habit of always making people laugh helped me in general not even success. I’ve always wanted to make the world laugh but the constant habit of even in dark times making someone smile just help me to keep going and push through my own darkness. Through that I have met some wonderful people and taken chances making others laugh that did help my career in acting. I received my first principal role in “Detroit” jus sticking to that habit of making everyone on set have a good time and laugh, blessed me to get that.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Well I’m sure as any actor knows it’s always hard lol but this career path is something I wouldn’t change for anything in the world I love! In this business I feel nothing should come easy and it wasn’t, I mean it still is. I wouldn’t say I overcame it but I’m for sure learning the game. There’s many lessons I’ve learned since I started in 2015 but the main thing I learned is, don’t hesitate on chasing your dreams, there’s a reason it’s your dream you have to go out and get it. You’ll learn to depend on yourself and honestly keep going even when things get tough. I feel honestly what sets me apart from others isn’t the drive or mindset, but the talent is something that you just are born with and naturally flows out and people jus feel it and see it in you. Something I want the world to know is, Raymond will never give up, I love this competitive lifestyle keeps us on our toes still going. The main thing tho I want to see EVERYONE WIN! there’s room for all of us out here to eat and help others. Yes the top would be cool but would be better when we all there’s sharing our story how we got here!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well if my besfriend is coming to visit there is no itinerary haha, we probably will be doing anything random or something we seen on Instagram as suggestions lol, but for sure drive somewhere, long drives always hit bests with your best friend, pig out at whateva is at a 3 miles radius cause one of us is to lazy to drive. But above all I for sure know there’s something we will always be doing…..taking SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS! Hahahah

My Mother of course the person that always believed in me and my dream, no matter crazy the idea she stuck with me Tia Aisha, Steph, Dulce & Andrea. My Niece Angie. My brothers Ze Jason Jorge Robb and Tylor. Also Kathryn Bigelow for giving me my first principal role and believing in me!
