Meet Trifecta Comedy | Sketch Comedy Group

We had the good fortune of connecting with the cast of Trifecta Comedy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trifecta, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
“My artistic pursuit started in 6th grade when I had one line in my school play, and I made the audience laugh. Instantly, I saw the power of storytelling; I knew at that moment that I wanted to be an artist. And not only that, but I wanted to be an artist who caused impactful change by bringing people joy and laughter. I’ve never looked back since.” – LaRose Washington

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community? What sets Trifecta Comedy apart? 
“I think it’s pretty rare for a group that formed right out of college to still be together 8 years later, and to still put up consistently sold out comedy shows. I love that I’m still surprised by what everyone brings.” – Kevin Phan

“What sets Trifecta apart from everything else is that there’s complete creative freedom. We write whatever we want and perform it wherever and whenever we want to. This is a unique experience to have in LA. The most exciting thing we do are our live shows. Nothing beats the energy of live comedy.” – Davey Jarrell

“Trifecta started as a wish: we wanted to give actors the creative control to write and perform comedic content that they wanted to see in the world. And that wish has turned into something greater than I ever expected. Our troupe has been honing our craft, making memories, and wow-ing audiences for almost 8 years now… If there is one thing people should know about Trifecta, it’s that we are an ever-evolving group of hilarious creatives who passionately and furiously work to provide the best possible experiences for our audience! I truly can’t believe how far this wish has come.” – LaRose Washington

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
“Food. Langer’s for lunch? And we are going to Little Tokyo for some sushi.” – Marc Rosenzweig

“Well first on the list has to be Flappers Comedy in Burbank, especially when Trifecta is performing. Second on the list should be the legendary comedy school UCB. Their shows are great, especially when Trifecta is in the lineup. If you’re not in LA to see Trifecta, then I don’t know what to tell you. Just watch us on Twitch then.” – Davey Jarrell

“My perfect day in LA: (we’re going to assume traffic isn’t an obstacle)
– Go to Millie’s Cafe for Breakfast
– Drive to Bailey Canyon and take a beautiful hike
– Stop by Factory Tea Bar for boba, 85 Degrees Cafe for a Marble Taro bun, and Kang Kang Food Court for soup dumplings (you need and deserve all 3!)
– Watch the sunset and take a dip at Long Beach
– Go perform in a Trifecta show at Flapper’s Comedy Club
– Late dinner at Fred 62
– Party until the sun comes up with drinks at Blue Goose Lounge” – LaRose Washington
