Meet Ejival . | Music producer, creative agent and all around good guy.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ejival . and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ejival, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Throughout my life, creative endeavors such as films, theatre, art, design, and music have inspired and left a life-changing impact on me. Pursuing creativity as a career has been very challenging, due to the confidence and courage required. However, participating in this life experience has allowed me to meet like-minded individuals who have encouraged and inspired me to follow my creative pursuits.

What should our readers know about your business?
Static Discos is an electronic music label that was founded by me, along with Murcof and Fax, who are two of Mexico’s most important electronic producers. Our label has served as a platform for nurturing several talented artists such as Childs, Arhkota, Uriel Villalobos, Cubenx, Carrie, Camille Mandoki, Antiguo Autómata Mexicano and many other fine electronic producers from Mexico. While Mexico is known to be a voracious consumer of foreign artists, we have been quite active in promoting Mexican music to the outside world through international festivals, venues, and streaming platforms. It’s not easy when some cities in Mexico are not considered cultural trendsetting meccas, but we are proud to have made a dent and contributed to the outside world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the craft beer culture in California, it is probably one of the most creative and exciting scenes since the Chinatown punk days in the early 80s. Additionally, I admire community music and art spaces like Zebulon and 2220 Arts + Archives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Torolab is a social art collective in which I have participated. Its director, Raúl Cárdenas, has taught me the importance of listening to others, the power of radical empathy, and the value of working with people outside of my comfort zone. Through this collective experience, I have learned the benefits of creating strong bonds with others and the shared strength of working together.
