We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominic Pardini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dominic, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Working with a team of dedicated people that I have been through hell and heaven with before. I started CrewLAB with my former rowing teammates and coach from UCLA. We have intense trust in each other

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career comes in two parts — corporate and athletic.

I studied Mechanical Engineering and Product Development at UCLA, took some internships in engineering space, ended up doing management and technology consulting at Accenture. Got to work on some actually thrilling projects that brought me to blockbuster movie premieres and gave me reps at delivering digital products.

Meanwhile, as an athlete (and coach), I have been competing around the world for years and fundraised millions of dollars for sports nonprofits. It’s a constant adventure and feels like a meaningful journey is self-discovery and teaching others what I have learned.

So I think the combination of those two worlds distinguishes me and really explains the CrewLAB business. I strive to build great teams and solve real problems for real coaches and athletes that don’t get the attention of big tech

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA is great for tourists and terrible for tourists. You have to pick your battles of where you are willing to travel,

The Griffith Observatory is one of my favorite spots and gives us a chance to check out Hollywood.

Most importantly we’d at L’Antica Pizza, Tsujita Ramen, and Tacos tu Madre.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
UCLA Men’s Rowing!
