We had the good fortune of connecting with Aurora Cecconi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aurora, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m originally from Italy, from the city of Verona. Before moving to Los Angeles, I spent four impactful years in Milan, where I studied Graphic Design and Art Direction at NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts.
Living in Milan had a profound impact on me, both personally and professionally. As Italy’s fashion and design capital, Milan exposed me to an innovative environment where creativity is important. The city’s history, cultural diversity, and cutting-edge art scene inspired me and shaped my aesthetic sensibility. During my stay, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a community of artists and designers who helped me hone my skills and develop a unique style. Growing up in Italy, I was surrounded by art, history, fashion, and culture, which instilled a deep appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship. My background has given me a solid foundation in Graphic Design and Fashion, which I now enjoy blending with contemporary influences.
After completing my studies in Milan, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. I have always been fascinated by the world of Graphic Design and intrigued by the diverse creative scene in Los Angeles. This city is known for its innovation and forward-thinking approach and is the perfect setting to continue my education and expand my creative and working horizons.
Since moving to Los Angeles, I have taken the opportunity to combine my Italian heritage with the diverse cultural landscape of my new home. I find great joy in mixing the rich traditions of Italian design and fashion with the innovative American spirit. This fusion allows me to create work that is not only visually compelling but also culturally rich and meaningful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I chose to pursue a creative career because the world of creativity has always fascinated me. From a young age, I found it easier to express my feelings through images rather than words. I was drawn by photography and a huge fan of music videos on MTV. During my five years of fashion high school, I began to explore Graphic Design and discovered Art Direction. That’s when I knew what I wanted to do: combine my passion for fashion with my love for Graphic Design. I decided to move to Milan to attend NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts, where I studied Graphic Design and Art Direction. This experience was transformative and solidified my commitment to a creative career. After completing my studies, I felt ready for something more, so I chose to pursue a Master’s in Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, which I am currently finishing. However, my journey wasn’t without challenges. As a young creative, initially, the emphasis was often on the end result rather than the creative process. Over time, I realized that my creations don’t need to please everyone. The beauty of Graphic Design and fashion is they reflect who we are—they are forms of self-expression. This understanding liberated me and allowed me to focus on what truly inspires me. That’s why I choose to pursue a creative career; I want to connect with people, express myself, and help elevate other people’s voices.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been living in Los Angeles for two years, and there’s so much to explore here! If my best friend were visiting, I’d definitely take them to Malibu. There’s a lesser-known scenic viewpoint that I absolutely love; it’s the perfect spot to watch the ocean and relax. Nearby, there’s a seafood shack serving fresh, locally caught fish – I’m obsessed with that place, and I’m sure my friend would love it too. I can’t miss showing them Venice Beach. One of my favorite activities is biking around Venice Beach and admiring the street art. The area is full of creative energy, and I find it so inspiring. I’m also fascinated by some of the unique houses in that neighborhood; each one has its character and charm, which makes me think that my friend would like to see that too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shout-out to my family for supporting my choices. Their encouragement and belief in me have been important to my journey. I also want to extend my gratitude to all the people I’ve met along the way. Every encounter and experience has influenced who I am today. From my mentors and professors to my friends and colleagues, each person has contributed to my growth and success in their unique way. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my story. Your support, guidance, and inspiration mean the world to me.
