We had the good fortune of connecting with Fernanda Ralston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fernanda, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
There is a quote from Andre Gide that has guided me and represents very much the way I see world: ” Trust those who seek the truth but doubt those who say they have found it”.
I decided long ago that I would have the openness of mind and courage to be always seeking truth, beauty and a higher purpose in life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my work life in the fashion industry and was always exposed to world of luxury.
I believe that when I started questioning what real /true luxury stood for was when everything changed and the path to a success story in business began.

15 years ago I started the Post Luxury movement in Brazil. The core of the movement has always been to truly understand and redefine luxury. But also to curate products and services that could showcase the Luxury of our Time.
In 2012 I launched the Botanique Hotel & Spa in the Brazilian mountains, the hotel quickly became the epicenter of the Post Luxury movement. The design, interiors, art, music, service and everything else in the hotel was created to demonstrate a different way of looking at the world of luxury, where originality, quality , timelessness and high purpose becomes the center of the conversation.

My new brand – I am Creation – is the evolution of this movement. A lifestyle brand dedicated to redefining luxury and elevating the art of living through immersive rituals using design and the translation of potent knowledge into Art Films.

I am convinced that true luxury is not just about having nice things but allowing real beauty and flow to elevate your life!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Fun walk to see the Singing Beach Chairs by artist Doug Hollis. Located between Pico Boulevard and the Santa Monica pier.

Bergamot Station Art Center – immersive and original art experience.

Sunset at Casa Del Mar Hotel and then head to The Basement Tavern – hidden gem on Main Street beneath the beautiful Victorian Santa Monica event venue.

Last but not least, a couple of hours immersed in the incredible selection of rare finds at the Last BookStore.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The InnoTown Innovation Conference that happens every couple of years in Norway. I believe attending to their event helped shape my vision on business.
The work and teachings of cellular biologist Bruce Lipton. His work is elegant and powerful. Everyone should read his book The Biology of Believe!
