Meet ZsaZsa Cakes | The kandie Dollhouse Designer and Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with ZsaZsa Cakes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ZsaZsa, how do you think about risk?
Taking a chance with the dollhouse was a daunting endeavor as nobody believed in my vision. The Kandie Dollhouse Doll Dreams Lounge may seem like a children’s concept, but it’s actually designed for women. Designing a product with teddy bears felt quite risky initially, as I doubted its appeal to others.

However, I decided to trust my instincts and move forward with the idea. To my surprise, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Women from all walks of life began to embrace the concept, finding solace and joy in the whimsical escape the Dollhouse provided.

The lounge became a haven where they could reconnect with their inner child, share laughter, and create memories with friends. It wasn’t just about the dolls and teddy bears; it was about the experience, the sense of community, and the empowerment that came from indulging in a bit of nostalgia.

Encouraged by this success, I expanded the Dollhouse . The Kandie Dollhouse and Doll Dreams Lounge transformed into a vibrant, inclusive space that celebrated womanhood in all its forms. And so, what began as a risky venture blossomed into a beloved sanctuary, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a little faith in one’s unique vision to create something truly magical.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating the artwork is the challenging aspect as each teddy bear possesses its own unique personality. Our teddies include Lolly, Pink Label, Blue Moon, Kandie Cakes, and the girl named Zsazsa. Collaborating with an artist, we develop a theme, have the design printed on fabric, and then sewn into garments. This process is time-consuming and costly as the printing doesn’t always turn out as expected.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I adore Level 8 and the Edison. It’s been a while since I’ve been out, and there have been many changes. I’m eager to get back out there.

The Kandie Dollhouse X Doll Dreams Lounge has been a dream. A big thank you to God, my son, my oldest sister, and my God brother who would wake up at 4 am to assist with the dollhouse. I would also like to give a shoutout to my models and influencers.
