Meet Luca

We had the good fortune of connecting with Luca and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luca, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
I think the biggest lesson is to work hard and be a good person. It’s important to develop meaningful relationships in my industry and in life in general. Too many people are willing to compromise on their ethics and values for a little attention.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Music is my art. I just launched a new band/brand called Blackjacket. I grew up an athlete (who could sing), but didn’t pursue anything musically until college. I think having the sports background created a different mindset for me than others in the industry. I approach music, writing and performance like a sport. I challenge myself to become better everyday. It’s created a certain level of physicality and explosiveness on stage that I think sets me a part. Also, I’m proud to have worked very hard on my vocals over the years to develop multiple vocal techniques creating diversity within the music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city are on the Sunset strip, like The Whisky A Go Go and The Viper Room. I lived for a while in Franklin Village, so one of my favorite places to go to is a restaurant/bar called Birds. Also, can’t go wrong with a hang session at Barney’s Beanery either. For a quick bite, Cactus Taqueria on Vine St. always hits the spot. I also really enjoy taking friends that are visiting for a hike at Runyon as well as a up to The Observatory. I think both have beautiful views of the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out producer/composer Eddie Wohl. I was lucky enough to record vocals with him on my first album in LA years ago. We became good friends and have worked together on various projects for the past 16yrs. We just wrote and recorded an EP for my new band Blackjacket. It was a great experience actually writing and creating with him, as previously my band would bring the demo tracks and we would go from there. It was cool to create from the ground up this time.
