We had the good fortune of connecting with Daisy Jeronimo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daisy, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from San Pedro California my mother and father didn’t have the easiest life and as I got older I realized how much hard work they both put in to give me a better life than they had. My mom always pushed me to be a better version of myself always supporting me even when I was going through the toughest times in my life I personally have dealt with anxiety and depression, and other things I’ve mentally had to overcome. All of the hardship I’ve went through really shaped me into the person I am today. Also seeing my dad grow as an entrepreneur always inspired me and made me want to do more with my life. He never gave up on having his own company & at the age of 50 he finally made it happen. I get my drive from both of my parents. My parents have always been my biggest support system & my son has been my motivation to get to where I am today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of Muse Beauty LA. My love for the beauty industry started in highschool when I was on the dance team and we’d always needed to have our makeup ready it was my favorite thing to do before our performances. Out of high school I went to work immediately and I went through a couple of jobs until I finally took the leap to go to makeup school. Once I graduated school I worked for big companies such as Frankie Rose Cosmetics, Morphe, & MAC. I was a Freelance makeup artist for 5 years and I loved every part of it until Covid happened. Once Covid hit everything changed and during that time no one was working so I took the opportunity to go back to school and get my esthetician license. I knew it was time to change course because I was no longer loving what I did so once i graduated esthetics school and received my license I realized the possibilities were endless. Covid was a difficult time for all of us but I took the opportunity to better myself. I had already dealt with a lot of personal stuff that took my mental health to rock bottom. So I was in desperate need of a positive outlet and I put that drive to better myself into my work. The first year I launched Muse Beauty L.A. was the hardest because I was still unsure if this was for me and if I was actually going to make a name in the industry because esthetics is so much different that makeup. I had a lot of ups and downs because I was home based when I first started since Covid made a lot of things restricted. Then I finally got the opportunity to work with a skincare brand after things were starting to get back to normal that let me take clients after hours. From there I gained enough clientele to feel confident enough to go into my own studio space so I took the leap and left. Everything was going great until I found out I was pregnant. My pregnancy was one of the hardest things I had to go through because most of it was not an easy process due to certain circumstances & while dealing with that I still had to wake up and be a business owner, but now I had more motivation than ever because now I had someone to live for and push for something greater in life. My family and friends helped me out mentally through those 9 months and I stop working at my 8th month because I knew the time away was going to effect business since I was the only one running everything. Once I had him everything changed but for the better because we were inseparable I came back to work a couple months after & I made him his own corner in my studio so that I could bring him to work and all my clients were very understanding. I had to do what I had to as a single mother trying to run a business at that time. I never gave up on the bigger picture even tho I was a new mom it came very naturally to me and I loved having him with me at work. A year goes by & everything is going amazing so since I felt like everything was coming into place I finally made the leap to open my store front. Was it the scariest thing I’ve ever done, absolutely but I have no regrets. All the hardships I’ve dealt in life have lead me here. My son was the main reason I took the jump because I wanted to give him the life he deserved. On May 1st 2024 was my 1 year anniversary opening my store and it was a surreal feeling to see how far I’ve came and to know there are people out there who walk in just so I can make them feel confident & beautiful in there own skin is one of the most rewarding feelings ever. I love making connections with my clients because most of them become friends and I’m am truly appreciative of everyone who’s given me the opportunity to make one of my biggest dreams a reality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area I would first take her to get some breakfast bagels at Bagels Galore then take her on a hike at a nearby trail after that if we’re hungry go get some yummy sandwiches at busy bee and take her and my son to go eat by the coast. Stop by the Korean bell because it’s my son’s favorite play ground. I’d take her to my shop so she can stop by and see my little blue paradise by the sea and get some dinner at Seaside Bistro!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my Family, Friends, and Clients who consistently support me and who have made my dreams a reality. From me starting as a makeup artist transitioning into an esthetician working out of her house during Covid. All of these people who have taken chances on me and continuously supported me from the bottom working my way up to now owning my storefront. I am eternally grateful and so appreciative of anyone who sits in my chair & supports my small business. Especially my parents who have pushed and supported my throughout the years and seen all the ups & downs that come with owning a business.
