We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Bouchard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kate, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since I was a child, my creativity has always been a large part of who I am. Music and art touch the depths of our souls, and truly exemplify the experience of being human. I am an avid reader, and use writing and poetry for reflection. But as a young person I didn’t see how creativity and artistry could become my career, and so in my early days I focused my learning on strategy and business.

It wasn’t until I tapped back in with those creative parts of myself that I started to feel fulfillment through work. I believe that’s why I was initially drawn to design and brand development – because they tap into the power of psychology, storytelling, and art.

I am able to be both creative and strategic, every single day.

What should our readers know about your business?
Loba is innovating health and wellness by taking pill and supplement management from routine to ritual. We started with reinventing the conventional and outdated pill organizer, to meticulously enhance both functionality and aesthetics with smart technology. Our customers are mostly young women who are busy professionals who have very full lives. It was important to me when designing Loba that there be utility and application for those always on the go. You need to be able to take your pills with you to a work lunch or fitness class. We designed Loba to have daily compartments to ensure you can take your supplements while out of the house. When paired with the Loba App, users receive reminders on their phone as well as on the device at home, ensuring your health journey is seamless and adaptable.

My goal was to create a beautiful, seamless experience that would provide, everyone the chance to embrace their wellness journey. Whether you’re working towards specific medical goals or simply seeking a reminder for your daily supplements, Loba is your ally.

It has not been easy but it has been one of the most rewarding things to see a physical product you personally designed existing out in the world, making a positive difference in people’s lives. A vision, an idea turned to reality. That’s truly the best feeling as a founder – when a customer tells you how your product has improved their wellness and their relationship with their health!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It may be cliche, but I love LA’s iconic hotels. If it was their first time in the city, I would take them for a patio lunch at the Polo Lounge, and dirty martinis at the Tower Bar in the evening. Plus of course swing by Chateau Marmont to see what’s happening. I always have a story to tell after a night there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents have has a tremendous influence on the successes I’ve achieved. Their unwavering encouragement, love, and support as I’ve navigated the challenges of building multiple businesses has meant everything to me.
