We had the good fortune of connecting with Gilles Leblu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gilles, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Luxury art for modern Contemporary living spaces. There is Beauty in Simplicity. Blackandwhite & Beige. Fashionillustrations, Architecture, beachvibes with a hint of Melancholia. I am a Flemish painter located in Belgium.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Since childhood I’ve painted. I has been in my genes since. I come from an artistic family and I was surrounded with art in different styles. Drawing and painting is essential for my well-being. It’s an outlet for my emotions.
Be creative and try different mediums and styles untill you find your own voice. Get inspired by old school painters, go to museums.
Working with ink as a medium forces me to get it correct right from the getgo. One false move or inkstain and all work was for nothing. This medium keeps me excited and on my toes! Get a partner in crime to get your work across the Globe! I’m inspired by Holiday and beachvibes, Fashion and Architecture.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Belgium is fantastic! Bruges,the Venice of the North, Ghent, Brussels, Knokke. We can stroll together visiting art gallery’s in Knokke Le Zoute and indulge in ‘Moules & Frites’ at a nice beachbar. We can take a boat trip on the canales of Bruges and indulge in some famous Leondias Belgium chocolates.
In Brussels the economic center of Europe we can stroll around the beautiful city centre, visit the iconic statue of ‘manneke pis’ and get a Belgian Waffle on the go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Thanks to Saarchiart I’ve been able to connect with artcollectors all over the world. My paintings are travelling mainly across to the USA but also to more exotic destinations like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, and offcourse Europe.
