Meet Dr Rady Rahban | Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr Rady Rahban and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr Rady, what do you attribute your success to?
One would think that as a doctor transparency and educating would be a given but unfortunately especially in the specialty of cosmetic surgery, it’s a lot of showmanship and sales. I am an information driven person and hence I always want to understand why something is being done or what other options exist. Therefore when I see patients, I spend almost 1 hour with each of them which is essentially unheard of in today’s fast paced medical world. I go over every little detail that I would want to know if I were having a procedure especially everything that can go wrong. Futhremore, I want patients to know what alternatives there are even if it’s not what I would suggest. That way patients are truly informed and empowered to make the best decisions for themselves

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Plastic surgery is a very competitive field. Then you add Beverly Hills and it becomes even more competitive with hundreds of doctors with in 4 square miles. Therefore when you first start out it is very slow and you will be tempted to operate on who ever you see. You have bills to pay for, a family and loans. But you need to maintain your moral and ethical obligations and refuse the temptation and only operate when it’s indicated and when you know you will make the patients much better. Secondly I was told day one to find a specific SUB speciality within plastic surgery. I was told without hyperfocusing in one area I would not be successful and there was too much competition. I love all aspects of plastic surgery and I didn’t train for many years to only do eyelids or breasts. While the road to financial success was a bit longer, I now of one of few guys that provides a high level of care in all aspects of plastics surgery. Head to toe and for that I am grateful
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start out by taking them to get coffee at Lux Caffe in malibu in one of my classic Porsches. I love porsche and I love classics and I love driving. Then we would swing back to my hood in Beverly Hills and grab lunch at one of the local restaurants. Im easy and not much of a foodie. Lastly we would swing by my house and grab my kids (3 and 1 years old) and wife and head to the park! I love the outdoors. Finally a home cooked dinner with the family and may a Disney show on Netflix
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My philosophy of directness and no BS is not directly the result of anyone person but the sum total of all the amazing people that have molded my life. I am blessed to be raised in a very traditional family with loving parents, siblings and a boat load of relatives. Furthermore I have so many teachers and coaches along the way that have chipped away. Lastly I some of the most amazing friends some of whom Ive known since kindergarden
