We had the good fortune of connecting with Britten Wrong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BRITTEN, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I feel like it’s important for people to have an outlet to express themselves, or even just have a way to let off some steam because life can be stressful. For me, I always liked the idea of creating something from nothing and putting it out into the world. I feel like human beings are meant to make things, and my art is my contribution. It’s important to me to leave a mark.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
LETEMDIE RECORDS. I started our a collective trio with the people I mentioned previously; WILLWAS & ATHENA WRONG. Our motto is “growth from death” and the meaning is that all good things come with sacrifice and we are aiming to kill fear and ego to become the best artists and versions of ourselves that we can be. We have all grown up together and that connection we have sets us apart. We are quite literally family. It’s cool because sometimes Athena has a vocal idea or WILLWAS remixes one our tracks that leads to a new sound or direction. I feel like we can do anything and try new sounds because we are all so versatile. Check out our new songs “wired” , “Red Tattoos” and “rosetta stone” as examples for the range we can do!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I feel like there are endless things to do here and I am still exploring places myself but I would suggest starting in the morning with Randy’s Donuts and cruising the PCH up to Malibu. There is so many good thrifting opportunities here so you have to do a little shopping, so check out Melrose and Fairfax to some brick & mortar spots you can only find in LA. I’m a big comedy fan so I recommend hitting up the Comedy Store or Improv in Hollywood and then getting a bite to eat in Korea Town. Also, you have to experience a good diner in LA, and one of my favorites is the Metro diner in Culver City.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my mama! When I started making beats and rapping in high school, I was making so much noise that the neighbors would make complaints but she always supported me and told me to keep going. My best friend and fellow musician WILLWAS has been with me since day one also. We started doing this together and he taught me a lot in terms of sampling and DAW’s that gave me the foundation to start creating my own stuff from scratch. Finally my little sister ATHENA WRONG has been a huge inspiration for me. Seeing her grow within her own career and seeing the waves she has been making recently has motivated me tremendously and I am super proud of her.
