We had the good fortune of connecting with Elisa Lucía and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elisa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I don’t think I ever decided to become an artist, I think I have always been one, as cliche as that sounds. I was always doing something artistic growing up, whether that was dancing or painting. Turning my passion for art into a career was a no brainer, the hard part is making a living out of it. When it came to deciding what I wanted to do for school, pursuing art was all that made sense to me. I like to think that there is art in everything, as I have always felt artistically inclined in everything that I experience. I grew up in a household that strongly encouraged me to try and pursue different things, so I was fortunate enough to find acting as what moves me the most as a person and as an artist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been told by friends and collegues, in and out of the industry, that my way of approaching characters is unique. I always work on the characters that I play by seeing them as people with stories that other people can relate to. I believe in the power of storytelling, and if I can tell a story that moves someone in any way, I have done my job.

I have so many projects coming out soon that I am really excited about. I also have some lined up for the future that I am excited to get started on. I am looking forward to working with so many wonderful and talented people that I have had the pleasure of meeting in the last few years.

I have grown a lot professionally in the past year and it has had its ups and downs. It has required a lot of hard-work, time, passion, perseverance and patience. They say that good things don’t come easy and I fully believe that.

I would like people to know that everything that I do and create comes from the heart. I want to give my beautiful country, Costa Rica, more opportunities and representation in the industry.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them, quite literally. Their hard-work, love and support are the main reason why I am where I am. Words can’t describe how grateful I am about everything they have done and continue to do for me.
