We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by my daughter, Savannah. The day she was born changed my entire perspective, instantly showing me how my life, once the center of my world, had shifted. She taught me to be softer, more present, and above all, to love in the simplest, most genuine way. Now at 11, she continues to inspire and motivate me every day. Watching her grow reminds me of my responsibility not only to guide and protect her, but to constantly improve myself—for her, and for me. She keeps me grounded, and she’s a daily reminder of why I strive to be the best version of myself.

One of the things that constantly amazes me is how much I learn from Savannah, even though I’m supposed to be the one teaching her. She has this way of seeing the world with such openness and curiosity, it reminds me to stay humble and never stop learning. Her energy pushes me out of my comfort zone, showing me that there’s always more to discover, both about the world and about myself. It’s not just about being a good parent—it’s about being a better person.

Beyond Savannah, I find inspiration in people’s stories and the world around me. There’s something remarkable about the resilience and strength people show in everyday life. The world, in all its complexity, is filled with moments of beauty and perseverance that constantly remind me there’s always something to learn, appreciate, and contribute.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Writing has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. That being said, I’ve always had a notebook in hand, jotting down thoughts everywhere and anywhere—it was all I knew.

One of my earliest memories is scribbling poems that were, let’s just say, rather ambitious in their attempt to rhyme! But that early passion eventually led to something significant. When I was inspired to create my first children’s book, “I Love You on Days”, it actually stemmed from a poem that just kept growing. It became clear that this poem had a life of its own and was meant to be a book.

The journey from there wasn’t easy. I had to learn the ropes of book publishing. Starting out, I had no idea how to turn my manuscript into a published book. My journey began with learning about literary agents and the daunting process of querying. When I finally secured a book deal, I was thrilled—until I realized it meant giving up creative control. That moment was pivotal; it was clear I needed to forge my own path. In 2020, I took the leap and founded Amorina Publishing.

Building Amorina from the ground up wasn’t easy. It involved countless late nights, extensive research, and learning many hard lessons along the way. But every challenge only deepened my commitment to my dream. Today, I’m proud to have four children’s books published: “I Love You on Days”, “Forever Valentine”, “The Search for the Genie Within”, and “Inspirwaken”. Each book reflects not just my passion for storytelling but also my dedication to creating meaningful connections between parents and children.

Amorina Publishing, is built around a profound love for books and the magic they bring to life. ‘Amorina’ means love in Spanish, and that love permeates in everything I do. I aim to enrich the bond between parents and their children through storytime, creating moments of joy and learning. At the same time, my stories aim to impart valuable lessons to young readers, helping them grow with empathy and understanding.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe so much of where I am today to the incredible people who’ve supported and inspired me along the way. My daughter Savannah deserves the biggest shoutout—her love and encouragement motivate me to keep growing as a person, a father, and a creator. She’s truly the heart of everything I do.

I’d also like to recognize the creative and supportive communities I’ve been lucky enough to be part of, from fellow writers to collaborators who’ve helped shape my work. In terms of books, one that had a profound impact on me is ‘The Power of Intention’ by Dr. Wayne Dyer. His teachings on living with purpose and the power of positive thinking have deeply influenced my mindset and approach to life. Each of these influences has been instrumental in my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for their presence in my life.
