We had the good fortune of connecting with Mick & Mike Mahan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mick & Mike, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Mick: We’ve always had a love for pizza. Being in the music business all my life, I started seeing a change which prompted looking towards another dream… Creating something stable for my two sons, Mike & Gianni and having another creative outlet. They are very involved in the business and I couldn’t be happier. Meeting so many great people in the pizza industry made me realize it was about sharing knowledge and good spirit rather than being competitive. They quickly became our colleagues, not competitors.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Mick: Working with various artists in the music industry for many years, I noticed a lot of creative parallels between music and pizza. I wanted to bring the same passion from the stage to the art of making pizza. The music industry is known to be very challenging so taking the steps to become successful in the pizza industry was a similar process. Take it one step at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Mick & Mike: L’antica Da Michele, Pizzeria Bianco and Pizzeria Mozza .These are some of the finest pizzerias in the country.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
