Meet Pej Alaghamandan | Interventionist/ Recovery Coach/ Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pej Alaghamandan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pej, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I am man that struggled with drug addiction and alcoholism for many years I was super resistant to getting help an intervention was done on me by my family. Once I finally got the help God placed some mentors in my path to see them do interventions. I went to school with the intention of becoming a drug and alcohol counselor which I was for a while in the treatment space but over a period of time I felt it was my calling to become a trained interventionist and work as one both locally and nationally. It was a manifestation that developed as I learned what my calling was. Now I am not just an interventionist but also a recovery coach. This is exactly where I always wanted to be and am now.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional life and career consists of more than one profession. Outside of the fact that I am an interventionist and recovery coach as mentioned I have been the host of a few successful podcasts over the last few years. Also I took to many platforms such as TikTok YouTube and many others not just to build my brand but also film extensive footage both reality style as well as educational videos spreading awareness and talking about drug prevention to large audiences of many people from all walks of life. I also own two recovery homes, a men’s and women’s recovery homes which I designed similar to the homes I got sober in. Also I do peer mentoring and as of late I have been doing a lot of public speaking in schools, jails, NAaive Tribes, Town Hall meetings, and soon on a larger scale is the goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on the friend I would take them to Malibu, Santa Monica, LACMA, and the GEtty Museums. I would definitely take them to DTLA to show them the diverse cultural communities and the many types of food they offer. Obviously Hollywood and Disneyland are options but again depending on the friend I would have to gauge and decide based on their personal interests.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few people that stand out to me and have been some of the greatest teachers and mentors whom I can mention but since this question says one person I will go with Earl Hightower. He has taught me the ins and outs of this profession. He took me under his wings over a decade ago trained me, supervised me, and still mentors me let alone sends me cases since he knows I am capable of handling most cases. He is a world renowned interventionist extraordinaire and I am lucky to have been taught by him for all of these years.
