Meet Kristen Sagona

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Sagona and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process in opening a coffee shop centered around the idea of creating a safe and welcoming space for the community. I envisioned a cozy environment where people could gather, connect, and enjoy quality coffee. This space might serve as a hub for social interaction, fostering relationships and supporting local culture.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Three Sisters Coffee and Tea with my husband and daughters in 2021. We are a family-owned and operated establishment named after our three beautiful daughters. Our journey has not been without its challenges, as we faced numerous setbacks from the city that delayed our opening process. Yet, our passion for creating a safe and welcoming space for the community has always fueled our determination. One of my proudest moments was when we were voted the best coffee in Burbank by our amazing community—a testament to our commitment and hard work. Through this experience, I am learning to focus on the big picture rather than getting caught up in minor setbacks. I want everyone who walks through our doors to feel welcome and to be treated with kindness, because that’s what our coffee shop is all about.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Burbank is filled with my favorite spots that make every day special. It all starts with a delightful cup of coffee at my shop, Three Sisters Coffee and Tea, where every sip is crafted with love. After that, I love heading over to Bea Bea’s Cafe for a delicious breakfast that always hits the spot. A stroll down Magnolia leads me to the charming thrift stores, each filled with treasures waiting to be discovered. I can’t resist a visit to Tansy, a wonderful women-owned nursery and gift shop that inspires creativity and love for nature. For a sweet treat, Yummy Cupcakes never disappoints with their delectable flavors. Finally, I wrap up my day with dinner and drinks at Forman’s Tavern, where the atmosphere is as warm as the food. Each of these places holds a special place in my heart and showcases the vibrant community we have in Burbank.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of my incredible customers who fill our coffee shop with warmth and joy every day. Your support means the world to me, and I am truly thankful for each and every one of you. A special shoutout goes to Jason Meier, whose unwavering loyalty and encouragement inspire me to create a better experience for everyone. Thank you all for making our coffee shop a community where friendships blossom and memories are made!
