We had the good fortune of connecting with Karine Poghosyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up, I was always captivated by the way my mom carried herself even for a simple walk around the neighborhood. She would take her time getting ready and ensuring her hair was just right. It wasn’t about impressing anyone, it was about how it made her feel. She radiated confidence and to me, that was beautiful. That’s when my journey into the world of beauty began. I pursued my passion for makeup and hairstyling using my skills and learning how to enhance the natural beauty. For me make-up was never been about covering up, it’s about amplifying what makes each individual uniquely beautiful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other makeup artists and hairstylist is my passion and dedication. I strive to ensure that every client leaves my chair, filling beautiful having confident. My dream is to work more with celebrities and expand my industry to the highest levels of the beauty industry. My biggest challenge was pushing forward even when times were tough. It hasn’t been easy, and even now the journey remains challenging. The makeup world is highly competitive, and my only competition is myself, to grow and learn more and more every day. The belief that I am the best at what I do has kept me going because my fiancé always reminds me of that. One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that success often requires taking different routes and trying things that other make up artist or hair hairstylist might not have tried. At the end of the day, what truly matters is people appreciating and loving my work. My favorite part of my work is the sparkle in my client’s eyes and wide smiles, and the reactions that they see themselves in the mirror. It’s a reminder that beauty is not just about appearance, it’s about how they feel about themselves. My mission is simple, to make every person who sits on my chair, feel confident and ready to take on the world because every individual deserves to feel beautiful as my mom did on her walks and I am honored to be a part of that transformation.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is a lot of fun places in Los Angeles, but if my friend was visiting, I would take her to these places.
Day 1:
Breakfast at Republique
Head to Hollywood Walk if Fame
Grab lunch at Za Za Za for some Mexican food
Take a stroll up to the Hollywood Sign
Dine at Castaway with a beautiful view of the city.
Day 2:
Breakfast at Homestate
Drive to Santa Monica Pier and have walk
Stop at Le Great outdoor restaurant
Go and have fun at Pier on roller coasters
Head to Nobu Malibu for an incredible dinner with ocean view.
Day 3:
Coffee at Maru Coffee
Head to Rodeo Drive walk
Stop at Avra for delicious food
Head out to shopping at Rodeo and Sephora
Have dinner at Dante restaurant
Day 4:
Grab Starbucks
Head to Disneyland
Have full day at Disneyland
Day 5:
Rest day
Day 6:
Full Day at Universal Studios

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t have come this far without the incredible support of my family and my fiancé. My family’s constant encouragement, belief in my dreams and them being proud of me is the greatest motivation. My fiancé’s daily motivation and strength is what keeps me going and not giving up. Every milestone I’ve reached is a testament to their love and support, and I am blessed and grateful to have them in my life.
