Meet Adam Jones | Editor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Life imitates art, a quote that has always resonated with me. It has shaped my creative process and how I approach a project. The way something is edited, the pacing, the music, the little visual details, it all shapes how it feels. It sets a mood. And sometimes that mood sticks with you like it could exist in real life too.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There’s just something kind of magical about taking moving pictures, cutting them together just right, playing with sound design and music, and using color and symbolism to create something interesting. I ended up in LA and spent a while bouncing between small projects, just trying to get better, figure things out, and make art that stood out.
Weirdly enough, it wasn’t until the world shut down in 2020 that things started to line up. I got a steady gig with a production company cutting music videos for rock and goth bands. Lots of grit, mood, and weird beauty. I made a reel from that and other doors started to open. Since then post production has been my world. I try to put something special into every project, like a little heartbeat hidden in the edit.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh Los Angeles, my home for years now. I love a good coffee shop and usually end up on the Westside near the ocean when I need to clear my head. I keep things pretty low key. Most days, I’m stumbling across a new Thai spot, a dive bar, or somewhere scenic for a long walk. Feels like there’s always something hidden around the corner waiting to be found.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To all the directors, musicians, and creatives who have trusted me with their precious projects. Each one unique in its own way. Thank you for allowing me the freedom to bring your visions to life. A special shoutout to Lance Lindahl (Polecat Prod), who constantly inspires me through music and art. Carley Lusk (Musician) who gave me the portfolio pieces in the beginning of my journey that helped me land my first job.
