We had the good fortune of connecting with Where’s West? and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Where’s, what are you inspired by?
We’re inspired by the raw energy of live music and the spirit of ‘60s and ‘70s rock, soul, and funk artists who made people move and feel something real. We’re inspired to create our own sound and community by blending that vintage feel with our love for modern dance music. Our love for California, the beach, and surfing shapes our sound and lifestyle. To us, it’s about capturing positivity, love, and connection. We feel united with people through our music.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are most proud that we make music that is authentic to who we are. While we take inspiration from a lot of different eras and genres of music, we feel we are bringing a unique sound to a new generation of music lovers. We are proud of the shows we’ve been able to play and the growth we’ve experienced, from playing in our college laundry room to joining the lineup with some of our favorite artists at Wonderfront Festival earlier this month.
It hasn’t always been easy — especially figuring out how to get our music heard in such a crowded digital world. Like many artists, we’ve felt the pressure to constantly be online promoting. It can feel like the platforms pull you away from the heart of why we’re doing this. But we’ve learned to focus on what we love most: making music that feels authentic, playing live, and building real connections — that’s where the magic happens, anyway.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would drive them up the PCH, share some waves in Malibu, then head to Venice beach for some sandwiches from Ggiata Delicatessen to eat by the skate park. After that we would take them to see some great live music at the Hollywood Bowl.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’d love to give a shoutout to our producers Don Miggs and Mike Pappas for guiding us through the recording process and bringing our songs to life. We’d also love to acknowledge our manager Cort Young for helping us grow our vision. We would, of course, like to give a special shoutout to our families and friends for their amazing support of us and our music
