Meet Nicole Basevi | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Basevi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always loved going to the movies, being at a movie theater has always been my escape from everything. I think that’s why I chose to go after the creative career. I want to make people feel connected to something else, an escape to their reality. I love telling stories and also being able to be part of different stories. I think at the end of the day I’m seeking connection. That’s why I love what I do. I love plays and movies that share new stories and points of view.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I decided to pursuit acting I left Brazil, my home country, and moved to LA. I would say that leaving my family behind wasn’t easy, but also leaving behind an idea of a future life that I have pictured for myself.
After moving I’ve met amazing people. I think life will always have challenges but how you look at it and the people you have around you makes all the difference.
It wasn’t easy moving and I still feel the pain of missing my home. But I have to believe it’s worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her to Griffith Observatory and a hike after it.
I would take her to grab a coffee at tectonic on weho, because I love their coffee drinks.
If it’s a Sunday I would go to the Hollywood farmers market, they have the best almond croissant!
I would take her to grab a bite at Joan’s on third.
Probably take her to watch a movie at the Chinese theater.
Grab drinks and dance at Davey Wayne’s

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family and friends are my biggest support. But also the acting community in LA, I’ve met a lot of artists that are so passionate and supportive. I also have a great support from my great teachers at The Lee Strasberg Institute.
